Anybody familiar with these?

I was just given some old Hi-Tec radio gear.  My son asked me if this was a 1980's cell phone? lol.. It's huge compared to today's gear. Anybody know anything about these? I never heard of them until now. I always ran Acoms or Futaba.

It's just another pistol AM75 type of transmitter from the mid 80's. They're very nice, and their color made them noticeable right away from all the silver and black radios from the same era. HiTec still makes good stuff.

Few heard of Kia & Hyundai or Ssangyong too, when Honda & Toyota started exporting
