Recommended Posts

Not a euphemism ladies + gents ... more what has everyone invested in ?

And what’s the best Tamiya branded / coloured box out there - noting I don’t they they ever released an OEM version beyond the smaller tool set cases 🤔

Tool boxes, I have just got back into this Tami-crack-ya.

I used to just use a simple chest type box when I was younger. Even had wheels and tyres in it. It kept them fresh and supple for around 30 years too!!!

Much like this:

When I got back into RC, and purchased the Hotshot, I bought a Bait box/Seat Box as it had pull out trays. I put some of the contents of my original box in it: Its very handy.

I then bought some other storage boxes for the odds and ends you get left over /Spare screws that accumulated over the next 3 builds and previous stuff.

The tools themselves, I tend to keep in a small tub/deep tray in the drawer, and build on the cutting mat or metal tray

Building the Bruiser, I want to keep the desk tidy :)

{go-go gadget: OLD THREAD RESURRECTION!}

I used some plastic toolboxes from the local hardware mega-chain. They were convenient for separating items but don't stand up to mild abuse and usually crack if dropped.

I also hate how the small parts float between compartments - I'm looking at you shims and washers <_<

I recently fell in love with Japanese toolboxes by Toyo...

It's a bit of a Tardis and holds quite a bit. I use some small containers for little items.

Here is an inside shot of it packed with all sorts of bits I took on a recent holiday...

They are also good off-road ;)

Tool box I use this.  For small parts I use string spool organizers and plastic shoe boxes that are stackable.

I don’t own any Tamiya branded boxes that I know of..

Polybutler Pit Box for me - sold under its original brand but also available from Schumacher under their CoreRC brand.

Have never found a Tamiya toolbox - only parts trays / parts boxes / tool stands and hauler bags
