Servos For CR-01

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what torque servos do you think the CR-01 requires especially when running two?

I run 20kg servos front & rear on my CR01 with 5.5" tall 2.2 monster truck tires and they have no issues turning the wheels at any time.  Bonus is they are very inexpensive and durable.  Have had them in the truck for about a year and take it out on the trails at last once a month, no issues.

I brought two of these, not fully field tested but great so far DS3218PRO 25kg HighSpeed 0.09S/60° 180° Waterproof Metal Gear Digital RC Servo

That's exactly what I was talking about.  Been using them in everything from crawlers to Clods and they work great.  Have not had a failure yet and have been submerging them and crawling with them hard for the past couple of years.  Can't go wrong for the price.

Both of mine hummed and wouldn’t turn smoothly at all and under load could turn the wheels

Yeah it sure is interesting. Would it have anything to do with the Tamiya ESC?

I don't rate the Tamiya ESC's I have always had issues with them, complicated to setup and don't really work with lipo.

I always go for the Hobbywing 1060 its easy to use with its Jumper system waterproof and compact

Yeah I don’t disagree with you on that but fingers crossed the Reedy ones will work otherwise l get one of those you liked if you never had an issue
