What the monster beetle is being re-released?

See this is how rumors start ;)

But they have re-released the Frog I dont see why they can't re-release all the other cars that are based on that chassis

Pattern as I see it:

Hornet > All Predicted Grasshopper > Then Predicted Lunchbox (since lots of similar parts) = Came true.

Jaguar + Merc > All assumed more > Mazda > F40

Frog > Brat > Monster Beetle > Mud Blaster etc

Stands to reason really. The Hornet came out last year at the same time that the Frog is due this year in Japan, so likely the next car in that line up will be announced around February like the Grasshopper was this year.

I am going to go broke with all these re-releases and might have to sleep out on the street. I will be happy with a Frog but if they do hotshot and blackfoot it will be hard not to buy them as well. Now lets start a Sand Scorcher rumor so that will come true.

If they rerelease the MB i would be getting one. This is the one ive always wanted but couldnt get as my parents couldnt afford it. Im 28 now and i can afford it !!!. The originals parts are to expensive for to get one as i would have to run it ;))

I would reckon the Brat would be up for re-release next on that chassis, since it is almost identical to the Frog, and they re-released the body set not too long ago. That, and Grasshopper chassis is to Hornet as Brat chassis is to Frog.

Monster Beetle could also be a contender, since the Blitzer Beetle was retired a while ago, leaving Tamiya without an old beetle in their lineup.

I can see it happening...hopefully if/when the re-release happens, I'll already own a Monster Beetle (natural companion to Blackfoot). I do wish they'd re-release the Blackfoot, though...Tamiya would make a killing off all the bodies I'd buy!

I personally doubt the ORV Lancia, Mud Blaster and Blackfoot will be re-released (for Monster Beetle and Brat I am not sure), as Lancia was released on a better (even optically)chassis, also Brat body was recently re-released so its easy to make one with the Frog chassis, for Blackfoot there were copyright issues on the body and already 3 newer versions existed (SBF, KBF, BFX), similarly for Monster Beetle, also the transmission would need a redesign even more urgently on the Monsters, meaning a KBF chassis, which would make the re-re a bit senseless as you can still get them.

One things for sure. We have to support and encourage Tamiya with the re-releases by actually buying them. The more we buy, they will certainly consider doing more. I know that I will be doing my bit with making a purchase or 2 soon. Bring on the Brat and Wild One.

Either one is good for me, Monster beetle, or blitzer beetle. As they would be a cheaper to buy as a re release ! Although they wouldnt be orignals as such. But i would rather own them as a re release, than not at all...

No the Monster Beetle will not be getting a re-release in the forseeable future.

How could you tell that so surten?

We know what most of the re-releases are up-coming and the MB isn't amongst them. I expect to see the Hotshot coming along before the MB. Yes, the Hotshot is overly complex and such, but if sources are to be believed (and the source was a bloke working for Tamiya HQ) then Hotshot is coming along at some point.

This is by no means the be-all and end-all of course, it may come along in the future - one way to tell I guess if by the Blitzer Beetle. Was the body changed from MB to BB...? If so, they will prolly have changed the MB tool to make BB so original MB will never return. Same for Scorcher unfortunately.

IMO i think the monster beetle and blackfoot will both be back sometime in late 2006,thats just my gut feeling,if there smart about this whole re-release thing they will make a killing selling these classic kits again

Well if the MB was re-re'ed I'd buy two straight away - shelf queen and runner. Such a lovely model, I'm sure they would sell by the boat load.

I reckon they will seeing as most of the parts are the same as the frog. and there releasing a Midnight Pumpkin metallic special wich is the same chassis as the pumpkin .An original blackfoot to me makes sense as well seeing as it was the original monster truck .
