i found my original shell out not long back and its in good condition.

apart from i want to repaint it.

so apart from the labourius task of scraping the shell i want a different way of taking the paint of.

i have heard that nitro fuel does this. do i have to soak the shell and if so for how long. will the fuel damage the shell in any way if it is left long soaking.

also is there any other ways i could try.

If you use the search function you will find endless topis about stripping lexan bodies, nitro fuel works fine with many paints, just brush it on, rub, brush etc.

Hello mate, i stripped my Dyna Storm 6 months ago and i used a mix (50/50) of Nitro Fuel and Brake fluid, i left the body to sit in it for 2-3 hours and when i came back the paint had started "Slipping" off the body, it took another 45 mins of scrubbing with a soft brush before it got finished. The results are in my showroom under vintageavante. I cant guarantee it will be 100% OK but it worked fo me very nicely.

Be carefull with brake fluid since it is verry toxic!! Also, if you use brake fluid (which works verry good), wash it of verry verry good, otherwise the paint will run out on you..

Brake fluid will destroy clear bodies. Others have good results using brake fluid but generally you need warm weather to get it to work without soaking. Only brush it on and wipe off when the paint starts to lift. If you soak it the lexan will end up cloudy and brittle.

Stick with nitro fuel. It's hard work but if the paint comes off it makes sure the body isn't damaged. Alternatively try Delta Acivator, see here http://www.tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7068
