You know what- I can't help but agree with you on this one and I also put the Avante in the same catogory. Thats not to say they are not good performers, but for me the overall shape and look of both of them is much to be desired. Bring on the Hotshots I tell ya!!

Oh My God I want so much to get a NIB Top Force EVOLUTION, I LOVE THAT BUGGY. It was the best buggy in our club 15 years ago and just shortly after the off road buggy racing died and the Touring Cars took over...

Top Force Evolution used to beat the pants off everything, it won everytime. Amazing buggy. Come on Tamiya, give us that carbon masterpiece!

Mind you I also dearly love the Ford F150 Ranger XLT (currently restoring one) and would LOVE to see an SRB re-release. It's those Styrene hard bodies and those beautiful metal chassis that I love.

Or a Hilux, the only 3 gear pick up truck that I like!

Cheers,

Alistair G.

Wow - at last some people that think the Top Force is ugly too! The chassis is fine, but I'm not keen on the body at all - it looks like it's been squashed!

It looks like it comes from TOG episode from Star Trek!?[:P]

I like the older, more realistic buggies. Top Force can be superb in driving but the shell and the looks... man, it's like watching a bad scifi movie from the early '50s..

I personally don't find TF and TFE that special either, they were actually only hopped up Manta Rays and as we know MR was the predecessor or touring cars (TA01), so imho more capable on pretty smooth tracks, also they weren't really successfull racers internationally, their design is boring at least and they don't have that spacey, overengineered design of an Avante or Egress. So imho they were a good compromise but nowhere special or don't have the vintage touch of a Hot Shot as in races today they are anyway hopeless compared to modern Assos or Losis. That's why I would preffer to see for example a more old school 4WD like Hot Shot being re-released and Tamiya parallel develop a modern hi-end 4WD buggy instead of rewarming old bread.

Cheers

I have to honest, the TF is not a great looking buggy! But by the same coin it's not that ugly also. As for as performance in the "TRUE" off-road world It's not a AE or a LOSI. Now that being said what it truly is Tamiya's best designed buggy ever. Something that is simple and a blast to have fun with. The true reason that I'm so happy is that "LONG ROAD" of hunting down parts will end soon!!! The truth is that the future is bright for all of us, that love what Tamiya is... for each and every one of us that is here at TC! And to that I say to Mr. Tamiya keep them coming.

RedFrits is from the Netherlands. Remember we are a global community and english is not the first language of a lot of members. As he does not live in the uK it is highly unlikely he will have ever come across the term 'mush'

His post actually wasted less space than your reply, explaining 'mush' would have been more helpful. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Mush is a slang term meaning friend.

OK folks... lets get back to why I posted this in the First place. Who else will be in line for a Top Force? I know I'll be!

And so what if shes a little on the ugly side, she runs like badword!!

I'm stoked they are rereleasing it, i might get one but I'm more chuffed that i'll be able to grab some spares for the one i have. But more importantly i'll be able to get a damned unpainted body shell finaly without getting a second mortgage :-D

Posted

Only problem is, the chances are that the spares you need will be the bits that break the easiest, and therefore Tamiya might sensibly address those bit in the re-release... ...maybe.

okay i just phoned up the hobby company and asked the sales if they had any info on theses 2 models and all i got was i have never herd of them 2 models. i said to her how can you work for tamiya and never herd of the manta ray and top-force. i just can not beleive that. then she got stroppy with me and put the phone down.

these people dont deserve to work at the hobby company if they dont know there job properly and there products.

so i phoned back and asked someone else if she had and chrome or gold wheels that will fit the lunch box and she said do you have part numbers i said no as i am at work. so i said could you please try as you would have more luck than me. but she came back 5 secs later and said no. i dont think she even botherd looking.

THE HOBBY COMPANY IS AS ABOUT AS uSEFULL AS A CHOCOLATE FIREGAURD. A COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE.

ITS NO WONDER WE BUY FROM THE uSA OR JAPAN IF THIS IS HOW WE GET TREATED.

I hear you topforcein! Had the same exprience unfortunally, just try to get hold of someone who has Tamiya cars/parts in Sweden. And the only place that do has some parts and stuff, know this and ignore mails and orders as they see fit.

More on the subject...I´d get one, i guess.

yep but the best thing about this is that the hobby company are the uk importers for tamiya. now what chance have we got if they who work there dont know what they are on about
