Strange Egress stiff steering issue

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

Bit of a strange one.

Basically, the steering mechanism in my Egress will not turn freely. Although the steering servo doesn't have enough power to turn the wheels it's also quite difficult to turn them manually by hand too. After investigating, I discovered that if I loosened the hub screws on both sides (see image attached) it then turns more freely and the servo has the power to turn the wheels. However, when I tighten the screws up again I encounter the same issue. They are not over-tightened by any means. Have I possibly missed something in my initial build?

Any help or advise would be fully appreciated.

Best regards

Rod

Not too familiar with these buggies , but I assume you have the correct step screws fitted and not used any washers with them ?

There's a spacer that goes in-between the hub carrier(black) and the upright (gold); it's easy to miss in the manual and the hub carrier will compress and foul things up if it's missed.

Out of interest where is the spacer ? , as I can only see step screws in that build section

Part BC12. As you can see it's kinda difficult to, uh, see in the manual.

Ah . I've been looking at the original manual , this a re-re mod ?

Possibly, the gold uprights are new for the re res, original were silver and cracked all the time.

Thanks guys and apologies for such a late reply.

The spacer is in there. I'll take another look to see if I've missed anything.

Best regards
