I got one even though it cost almost as much as the kit did.

I already got the ORV version as the gearbox is well known to be flawed & i wanted the option of a more power.

Now I am looking at building a Bigwig & there’s a similar product available for the Hotshot series. But I wasn’t aware of any issues with the original gears on these.

Do any TC users have experience of Hotshot series gearbox issues and of fitting & using the MiP upgrade?

Going by this, the HS diff was more of a refinement than a necessity

I bought three full sets of the Monster Beetle diff + spares.

I have several models with the HotShot gearbox. And while it would be cool if a ball diff came out, for this car I just don't really need it as there's no weakness in the gear diff and I'm not running anywhere I'd need the performance.

So best of luck on this one, but I guess there may be more like me. :(

See I agree with you as they are not "needed" like they are on the BF. Plus, you would need two per car at $60 or so each and although that is about the same price as one of the terrible vintage Thorps, I just don't think that we can get the number of people that we need to back this.

There were some fit issues but I can't find anything on whether they were all eventually resolved, although I don't think the issues were with Hotshot builds but some of the 'similar' chassis;
