New vs. Old Part Numbers

Did i see someplace that there is a list or a searchable source to find the old part numbers, or where you could see what the old numbers where converted to?

For instance, searching this number (19803104) at tamiyausa nets nothing.  Was the part changed to a new number, or just gone entirely?

Just trying to grow my Tamiya knowledge, wanting to collect as many sources as possible.

Sometimes a 1980xxxx part number came from a 980xxxx part number; try searching on that.  I have a feeling @Mokei Kagaku could explain this pretty well.

In the model database there is a list of parts and part numbers that are compatible. I use this to find the current part numbers.
