BLACK CLOD back to the future. Might as well throw in some Bullhead too.

Recommended Posts

Working on a blue body but I am out of stickers. Will use the silver canopy.

rework the 6 x 6 to give it 4 links and sway bars. Found that the sway bar really helps with traction roll (or the reduction of). The 6 x 6 suffers badly from this. Notice 3 new 6mm holes on each chassis plate. These are for the flanged bearings for the sway bars.

Worked on tire gluing today. Skill level up :-)

1) use very low viscosity glue
2) squirt onto tires bead. Massage all round
3) let excess glue gather at the rim / bead interface
4) use both hands to squeeze the tire onto the rim leave no gaps
5) most important bit - while holding the tire against the rim, swirl whole tire in a circular motion let the excess glue cover the rim / tire interface evenly
6) do the swirl + hand clamping for 2 minutes. Viola !

Initial test run - Fantastic. No more traction rolls. Sway bars work their magic. Turning radius still too big. Rear steering needs to increase travel.

Yes, designed by Jconcepts & sold at shapeways. No idea what sort of plastics though. I use 4mm aluminum standoffs with 4mm grub screws. Will use some schumacher battery hold down knurled knobs to keep the body in place.

Contsruction here is fantastic. I don't usually like the Bullhead, but on six wheels it just works.

Could I make a suggestion, and apologies if you've already considered it, but moving the cab forwards, and then installing a rear tipper?
