So I might've horded 10+  Top Force Hicap shocks. I'd like to fit 2 sets to my new clod. Are there any fitment issues?

The original Clod specified Tamiya's "long" CVA dampers as an optional part. Hicaps were only released in equivalent "short" and "mini" configurations, not "long" AFAIK. That being said, back in the day, Clod lift kits were prevalent from manufactures like ESP . I believe CPE still makes them. They would lift the truck with stock length shocks for more travel. They had a second use, allowing shorter than ideal length shocks to be utilized (you didn't get as much of the lift effect in these cases). Whether these would take up the height difference between Tamiya "long" and "short" shock lengths, I don't know. The kits are fairly simplistic so a custom version to allow Hicap usage is also conceivable. Despite their long length, Clod shocks have relatively little travel since Tamiya uses tubing to limit them. The purpose is to keep the steering rods from crashing into the chassis upon suspension compression.

Ive got (2) sets of long CVAs from my Kingcab and Hilux that I've added Hicaps too. I think I'll rob the shock shafts in order to fit the Hicaps and reuse the rubber limiters.

So I got them mounted up, used the long shafts from Xtra cva shocks. I still lost about 1/2 an inch. I just ordered a 4 link kit and shock mount from Crawford performance. That'll fix the loss of suspension travel. PS the Hicaps really smooth out the handling and end the pogo stick handling it had.
