Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 ESC question

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.. first post so please be gentle.

Hopefully an easy one -

Modelsport suggested I get the 1060 along with a Core RC 15t Silver Can Brushed 540 Motor  to bung in an old frog that I'm resurrecting for my lad whilst we're holed up in isolation.

My question is will the 1060 also work with a standard Tamiya silver can 540s which are 27turn.  (And I also have Team Orion Core Stock motor (probably pretty old) that I think is 27t also)

I know you have to make sure the ESC is not trying to run too few turns, i.e. the 1060 is rated down to 12t, so 15 is fine,  but does it matter the other way??

Thanks in advance

That is correct, yes. The turn limit indicates the lowest number of turns that the ESC ought to be able to handle, but there is no upper limit, as the more turns a motor has, the less current it draws, and the less stress it places on the ESC.
