hey guys, so i  finished box building my new TOP FORCE. body will wait until it is up and running. Although colors are picked for the shell. Anyway, kit came with a 540 silver can. This is my first TOP FORCE. Id like input on a motor ESC setup. I dont need a 90 mph car. but, would love a solid combo to put in the kit. Im sure somewhere this question has been asked a hundred times. Thanks for you input and knowledge.I dont lan to beat the car but will def run it over at our sand pit 5 min from my house. Speed is good, torque is good, ive never run brushless as im an 80s kid. Dont know about lipos and i have a few tble  02s esc laying around. Thanks again looking forward to input. Oh and price range about 100 using tble 02s 150 combo.

They are great runner, i reckon they are the perfect mix of old school cool and decent performance.

I run a HW1060 and Super Stock TZ motor in mine on 2S lipo and it goes really well. It is too fast for my backyard and can do damage at this speed. Its not fast like a modern mod buggy is, but fast enough.

Since you already have the TBLE-02S then look at a 13.5T brushless motor. You can pick up something like the Surpass Rocket V2 for about USD30 on banggood and they go well.

It fits the gens ace rounded lipo too if you're looking for a battery for it.

I have the TA02 gearset and the high speed gearset with a bunch of pinions so have a gearing options for brushed or brushless. You may need a new spur or pinion depending on what you choose. The Super Stock runs on kit gearing but you would want a smaller spur if you go brushless

@Jonathon Gillham I dnt ever speak when i dnt know the answer. the lipo batt 2s is going to create more power? is that based on technology that i havent learned? HAHA

Lipo's don't lose voltage as quickly, there are graphs out there showing the voltage vs time as they discharge.  They can also provide more current, a NiMH has a C rating of around 12 - 15, but a lipo is 25C - 50C (some claim to be over 100C but I don't really believe them, apparently they can get to around 50 though but I'm no expert).

There is a heap of information out there about the technology, but real world experience of running the same car with NiMH then lipo back to back suggests the lipo is about 15% - 20% better.  I find when running my cars with silvercans in my backyard that they get quite lively with a lipo but are a bit pedestrian with the NiMH.

@Jonathon Gillham

thats my question. ive seen lipo prices at 70 dollars. but my old school batts are way less.

Yep, heaps more money, but in my experience worth it. Especially when you run low turn motors or start adding dynamic timing in the ESC, a NiMH just can provide the power.. But even a silvercan gets a boost
