Resizing small pics will make them only unsharp or pixelised as you can't recover lost detail info, except if you plan to vectorize the images, but even there a big scan is better for higher accuracy.

When i look at them in photoshop there the right size. But when i print them there too small. There really high resolution. Im thinking if i get the right dimensions and then bring the resolution down they will still be alright. I emailed the guy that scanned them. Maybe he will get back to me.

I think I looked at these once from the site. And the guy has some intention of selling them once he gets it all set up. I highly doubt that he would be willing to give you the templates but it never hurts to try.

On another note would it not be illegal to make copies of the original decals and have them reprinted. Must be some kind of copyright infringement.

They are much to small for quality prints, less then 1000x1000 pixels, guess scanned at 72dpi, while it is recommend to scan them at 600dpi, even at 300dpi they are over 3000x3000 pixels (9Megapixels)

Awesome! If you guys get some monster beetle decals scanned please let me know.

And yes Testors makes decal paper. only problem is printing white. Regular printers dont recognize white as a color. Because paper is white it just assumes your printing on that.

Im wanting to get a new style vw body and outfit it with original decals.

Well, Tamiya lost the copyrights of some (old) companies too, so this will be complicated then...

If it's for your own needs, no problem here.

But when you want to make money out of it, you can/may get into trouble, but I doubt that...

Here's a laserprint on vinyl for my WW1

Because it only prints black, I had to redo the helmet and color it afterwards.

Julien,

I can't scan the decals in once. I have to split each sheet up in two parts due to the length of these sheets. Each file will be apx. 26MB!!!

Still interested?![?]

Hello,

Yes I'm still interested but file size seems amazing [xx(] Can you save scans as jpg files with 75 compression ratio, size should be a lot smaller [:)]

Thanks! I can probably make corrections in photoshop to get rid of the bump in it.

I fixed the image in photoshop. Its nearly undetectable that it was modified. Should look good in a print. No bump now. I can email it to whoever wants it.

email me stanonbass@cfl.rr.com

Its high quality so i couldnt upload it to putfile. If anyone wants to host this let me know.
