Hi,

i managed to get an Audi Quattro Body.

Now iam looking for suiteable chassi and compared the willy and audi chassis. The parts list here on TC says that nearly al pieces are the same except the Bumper and the metal support plate (at the fist look). But i looked on some pics here in the showrooms and theres somthing i dont understand.

Cause the Quattro (Opel) chassi seemes a bit longer then the willy chassie but the parts list tell me its the same.Whats right now?

And wich parts are different? I ask cause a local second hand dealer has a wild willy in his room at a really good price. So i would try to convert it. Good idea?

As far as I know, the radiobox is different (top and bottom) from the one of the Wild Willy/Willy's Wheeler.

This is why the chassis looks longer, maybe it is (don't have a Quattro/Ascona)

Also the alu front plate is different.

You can find this out easily by looking at the online manuals.

The Willy and Opel chassis are completely different!!!!

You see the difference very easy on the underside.

the Willy chassis is ripped and the opel is smooth.

The space for the servos is bigger, thats why the chassis is longer.

The gear case in the rear is also different. One plate speels Wild Willy the other quattro. The gearing is different to compensate for the different tire size.

So you can not take a Willy chassis and put an opel or Audi on it!!!

to get a new or almost new body for the Audi, Opel is the far more easier step, instead of finding a complete new chassis.
