Why does the Serb chassis have springs in the electronics compartment?

I was looking through the instructions online, anyone know why?

It uses a wire torsion bar arrangement rather than coil springs. Its installed between the chassis plate and electronics box to clamp it in place to prevent it rotating.

If you mean the four springs one on each corner it's to keep the lid shut.
