Hi All.  I am reliving my Tamiya days now with my son (who is only 6).

Recently invested in the 58568 Tamiya RC Neo Scorcher - TT02B with ESC

I really liked the lunchbox but was persuaded this was a good way to start.

However I can see it doesn't have great ground clearance.

How is it best to improve this?

1.  I have read about spaces for the suspension

2.  Also I prefer the idea of fitting bigger tyres on this but really lacking so clear information here (I understand I would also need a new pinion set}.  Especially like the idea of a variety of larger wheels such as the mad bull.

Can anyone offer some simple clear advice? Also where is it best to get the parts?

Many thanks in advance!

How about some wheels and tyres from the Comicals? They're all 12mm hex all round so they will fit your Neo Scorcher, and the tyres are around 100mm diameter. Wait a few weeks until Comical Avante spares are around and you can get a set of the block tread tyres that are coming on that:

If you're looking for more clearance using shocks, check out the DF03 alloy shock set 53926. They are 5mm longer at the front and nearly 10mm longer at the rear than the stock CVA shocks on your buggy. Will lift it up nicely and they're amazing shocks too.

I have big wheels on mine.

Hiya.

Wow.  thanks for that.  Will those fit straight on or do I need any other accessories/ nuts?

Also what pinion would I need to change too?

Thank you so much

Alun

About half way down the page. Think I used CR01 beadlocks with WT01 tyres.

Hiya.

Thanks for the ideas.  I will have a look at those wheels.

Those different shocks are a great idea, although had a quick look and seem quite pricey.

Also same question about anything else I need to do such as change the pinion?

Thanks

Alun

Any 12mm hex will fit as long as they clear the arms and hubs. Most should be ok.

I would not worry about the pinion change. Acceleration will be less with big wheels which might be better for a child. Run it an see how hot the motor gets.

Thanks very much all.  That's given me some ideas to look into.  Love the big wheel looks. I am going to do some searching.  I might post back here to see what you all think.

ref pinion. If I did need to change it, what would I need to change it too?
