Reminds me of the old joke: "How do you make a small fortune in racing? Start with a large fortune..."

I have a couple of cars that haven't been run yet, but I don't like to sell things without seeing them in action first. The only two I can think of that I never ran were an RC10CE and a Nichimo Exceed. The RC10 I built from all-new spare parts, and the Exceed was new-built when I boguht it, and so frail that I didn't dare run it.

Yep, I have had a lot of different cars in the past, most of them got a lot of runtime.

But a few I haven't run before selling them again.

I also have a newly built 6month old CrossRC HC6 on the shelf, only built it over the past few months and had a test drive in the living room, thinking of selling it, but seeing the quality issues I had when building I am also a bit hesitant to sell it as don't want to sell my mess to someone else.

But also had quite a few cars which I sold after only a single test run.

I am a total nooby with r/c cars, but I've done it with airplanes.

What I hate about building airplanes is the amount of time and effort it takes to do one well, knowing that sooner or later it wil crash, and no matter how well you repair it, it will never be as good as new.

So I would give away airplanes that I had built, just so that someone other than I could crash them.

Only once have I built something and realised it was not going to be for me. Never with a Tamiya though, the car in question was a TTech Predator that I bought when I was racing.

It was a wonderful car to look at but if you had to maintain or repair anything, it was overly complicated. If you break something whilst at the track, you want it to be a quick and easy repair.

I thought of the money loss as a learning experience and was thankful nobody had a swear jar in my vicinity whilst building as the loss would have been way more.

I debated last year for a long time whether to get a Top Cat, or a Top Force, and decided on the Cat, as I raced Schumachers as a youngster.

What a mistake.

Terrible build, front end doesn't work at all, shocks, and steering, terrible.

Should have sold it part built, but did finish it off.

Took a massive hit selling it, only the second time I regretted buying an RC.

I’ve only sold on 1 car so far & that was never run. It was a Mad Fighter I bought part built & unrun. I disassembled cleaned and reassembled it but didn’t finish. Then superted put up a wanted ad on here so he got it for what it owed me. I’m up to 17 assembled (4 not yet run) & 6 nib kits so I really should move a few more on...
