Hi

I was wondering if anybody nows wether you have to put a technigold motor in these models or will any 540 fit. I seem to remember having difficulty fitting motors into it many years ago.

Hi Bully,

I think the standard motor will work if you have the white plastic ring which have to be fit on the backside of the motor. This is the trick of the car. (I'm talking of the E4 part, look at picture 15 of the manual). More modern motors wont fit because typically the brushes are in the way.

I had a 14x2 motor in my porsche.

was much faster than the Technigold.

It is very easy to fit any motor in the car.

you only have to make a tight fit at the endbell to the white ring.

If you drill a hole exactly on the opposite side at the front and take 2 screws instead of one, there is enough hold in the front.

So you can take any new engine except the V2 ones.
