Newbie here, I have recently built a Lunchbox, managed to link the transmitter to the servo and motor and all was working apart from it making an awful noise when in reverse. I disconnected the motor and took the gearbox apart to check that I had done everything correctly. I have now rebuilt it and the steering still works but when I try to get it to move the motor just beeps. There is a green light on the esc that comes on whenever I use the transmitter so it is receiving the signal but I am at a loss as to why it wont move anymore. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I have done wrong and what I can do now, many thanks all.

Check all the connections, I have had a lead come off a motor one. It threw me for ages.

If you turn both wheels does it turn the motor?

Now that I have checked the rear wheels appear to spin independently and dont now appear to be attached to the motor. Am guessing I need to take it apart again! Thanks for the tip.

Did you turn them both together? The diff will allow them to spin free independently

Yes, I turned them both together, previously when I spun one wheel the other turned as well but in the opposite direction. Now they both spin independently. It doesn't appear that they are connected to the motor as they spin freely which they didn't before.

Very odd. I cannot think of a viable answer.

I would leave the gearbox as it is and pull the motor. Check the wiring and then run it out the car. Once you sort the motor problem you can look in to the gearbox issue.

When you get the motor out check the pinion is tight as well, it is possible to miss the flat and have it tightened down on the shaft, it does not stay tight long.

Feel free to post pictures as you go along. They help no end.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice, will take the motor off tomorrow and check the pinion. Will try and get some photos to help with the diagnosis.

Managed to get it sorted, not sure what was wrong but taking gearbox apart and putting it back together did the trick. Many thanks for the advice.
