There is the Tamiya sport tuned motor I have not used one yet but they are faster than the normal 540 motor they range from £20-£30 there are also other Tamiya tuned motors available just a thought . Also the higher the turn the faster it will go so 23T is slower than a 28T.

 Its the other way round

But a sport tuned would be a good starting point if keeping the stock esc and battery.

Saw on you tube some one using a absima thrust eco 21 . Would that be any good. Cheap as chips at £8.50

Depends on what your speed controller is rated at. 21 turns brushed motor would be too low to run on the standard Tamiya Tble02s.

Do you know what you have?

Currently it has the vintage old style controller but thinking of putting in a hobbywing  quicrun 1060

GoolRC motors. Tried, tested and they are good. From 80t down to 10t. Price is ranging from $10 - 15. Really cheap and reliable. They are also equipped with bearings at each end.

Do you have to provide your own wiring for the goolrc motor?  Looks like you have to provide and do your own soldering?  If so, where can you source the wires?  Don't really want to unsolder a silver can.

Also, man how are they selling this motor for $11 USD and shipping it for free from China to US?  What does this thing cost less than $1 to make?
