Very nice indeed 👍

Don't forget the tungsten diff balls, aluminuim pressure plate set, aluminium front uprights and aluminium hub carriers 😳

I fancy a LiFe battery, where did you get yours from?

And alu knuckles - 53325 👍

Sorry - yes @svenb, I missed off the tungsten thrust + diff sets ... already on order sir 👍

Sadly can’t find an NIP aluminium pressure plate set anywhere ? probably because TFE restorers hoover them up for silly money 😂

Any leads or tips finding one v much appreciated ?

This is going to be as close to the TRF 415MSX / TA05 30th Ann as I can make it guys but I’m hesitant about front end aluminium @svenb @futureworks ?

It clearly looks amazing but also adds weight - and in other builds has made 4WD over steer whilst transferring stress to other bits that are an absolute pain to fix ? Whereas the 49400 anticipated that issue with a suspension alloy anchored directly to more of it carbon !

Anyway, happy to be disabused if you guys have diff experience ?

The LiFe and charger had to come via a Japan broker @svenb - and was annoyingly one of the most expensive bits to keep the build true Tamiya 🙄

Let me know if you want a set sir I’ll add to my order before shipping 👍

More period hop-ups:

  • 49046 5mm Adjuster (Red) (I have no idea where you'd find these ;))
  • 49142 Lightweight Aluminum Wheel Hub (Thick)
  • 53167 Touring & Rally Car Ball Bearing Set (you could probably piecemeal a complete set relatively easily since the carbon shaft set replaces the hollow steel shafts that come with set)
  • 53214 Super Grip Radial Tire
  • 53321 Super Grip Radial Tires, Wide

Oh, and one other chance to "go blue":

  • 53130 Nylon Parts Coloring Set (you could dye both the high speed gear set and hi-torque servo saver :D)

And I know that you've already made a decision on the battery pack, but will add these to help complete the list:

  • 55051 1400SCR Battery 7.2V 1400 mAh
  • 55054 1400NP Battery 7.2V 1400 mAh
  • 55056 1700SCR Battery 7.2V 1700 mAh
  • 55062 1700SCRC Racing Pack 7.2V 1700 mAh
  • 55065 RC1700SP Racing Pack 7.2V 1700 mAh
  • 55071 RC1400SP Racing Pack7.2V 1400 mAh

One other I wanted to mention:

  • 49559 Plated Mesh Wheel

Granted that the wide rear wheels sort of make this a stretch, I thought maybe replacing the stock wheel centers with the plated items would be a neat substitution. I also might know where you could find the centers alone B)

Can you imagine how badass a car is going to be with parts called "tungsten thrust" in it!!!

I have to be honest here I've never ran a chassis with the aluminium knuckles 😳

Really quite rare and a bit pricey, mine on a couple of shelf queens.

I get what you mean about transferring shock to other components maybe that's why there haven't been that many aluminium hop up knuckles for many other chassis's, M-chassis and TL01 spring to mind🤔 probably a few more but don't see many TRF's with them on.

PM on its way👍

Is your mail box full buddy?

On the other hand, those cast pieces are soft as cheese compared to machined aluminum. I think you'd probably snap those knuckles before anything else ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It looks like the 54484 mesh wheel set for the CC-01 has the same plated centres and (I think) the 26mm rim.

Here's my Hopped-Up TA-02:

- 47395 Front one-way
- 53056 Metal wheel hexes
- 50705 Black steering knuckles
- 53155 Low friction alu dampers
- 53163 Red springs
- 53697 Super Stock RZ motor
- 45028 TEU-302BK ESC
- 55051 1400SCR Battery

- Adjustable upper arms
- Alu Motor mount

Centers are the same but the rims are different than the 49559 pieces. The originals came with Celica rims that were plated matte silver. :D

Ahh yes, I meant they are the 26mm rim for the 934/GT2. The 49559 are essentially a plated version of 53107 Skyline GT-R Mesh Wheel (but I'm sure you knew that!) :D

Pity the centres aren't available separately!

Or are they!?

Not as far as I know. I bought the full set of tires and rims because apparently I'm a masochist 😂

This definitely looks like a ‘build to run’ project, but even though it’s with a re-re rather than original TA02 chassis, I’d still plump for a good old period correct brushed acto power 😊

Agree they’re superb @futureworks

Could a TEU302BK handle the power though ?

Its rated to 23t and these old Acto’s look to push out more ?

If so, that would m make for a v expensive Volac MS given I like to keep things red n blue 🙄

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

I've also reached out to you on Thingiverse via you R53JRC user name.
