Hello

I wanted to know if anyone had done a super sabre to boomerang body swap and what parts I would need to do this as I see the boomerang has a separate wing. Also I see on eBay a vehicle called a Winger which might share the same chassis? Basically I’m looking for a spare body shell to use that isn’t the original...

thanks

The main body shells should swap right over but the Boomerang, as you noted, has a separate wing which makes things more complicated. One of the changes (the main one, actually) Tamiya made to the Boomerang to fit the Super Sabre body was to use a different, lower, rear shock tower with shorter shocks to clear the Super Sabre one-piece body/wing area at the rear.

To fit the wing using factory parts, you would need the Boomerang rear shock tower (C9) and the Boomerang rear wing mount (A1 and A3) in addition to "long" CVA shocks to mate with the taller rear tower (as opposed to the "short" ones currently on your Super Sabre). I don't have a Winger body but looking at pictures (and based on the fact it was an optional body for the Boomerang originally) it looks like it needs the Boomerang tower, wing mount and longer shocks as well. Hope this helps.
