Hey all. I am looking for a new transmitter and receiver as I'm getting back into the RC game. I prefer using sticks over trigger and wheel.

I recently found the Microzone Mc6a and figured it's a decent price and looks neat. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them in a Tamiya car kit.

The description states it can be used for Planes, Cars, Boats and all.

Thanks,

The only possible issue is the throttle stick doesn't appear to have a return spring on it - It's no biggie, but most 'car' radios have a throttle return spring so that if you let go of the stick the car slows down. (also handy if you knock the stick by accident)

A lot of 6 channel radios (and 6+ channel) don't have the return spring, but many can be modified easily enough - provided you can get the parts.

Do you actually need a 6ch radio?

I bought a flysky stick controller, its really meant for aircraft, like that one. You will need to lock the sticks so they only move in one direction and ensure they have a self return spring (this is all available for the flysky, don't know about that one) also, rotate the steering one 90 degrees to give you left/right instead of up/down.

It seems the sticks are out of fashion now unlike when I was a kid. Long live the Futaba Attack R sets!

Actually, take a look around there was a thread where someone took an old stick radio and retrofitted the guts of a modern 2.4Ghz set. Basically he just used the potentiometers of the new radio gear in the old sticks, I thought it was a good idea.

Thanks folks. I've actually bit the bullet and gone for a trigger and wheel controller to get me moving. Shouldn't take too long to get used to.
