Wild Willy 2 Delisted?

Tamiya seem to have updated their website last night, and unless I am mistaken, all mention of the Wild Willy 2 seems to have disapeared.

Does anybody know about this being delisted?

dont panic!, i,ve just checked it out and its still listed in the RC section - phew!!!!!!!!!. dont know if its been dropped from production or not though.

I don't think Tamiya would go through all the trouble to make a new chassis for a car then discontinue it so quickly. The most like cause of it's dissapearance was that the web programmer inadvertently left it off.

Wouldn't be too surprised.

Imho it wasn't a very big seller, all I keep hearing is many of the national distributors around the world are disappointed with its sales vs expectations. Market positioning is a bit unclear - ie is it a monster truck? (too tiny next to a TXT1) Or a kiddy toy? (too expensive & fragile). Really, I think it was mostly bought by Willy fans, not total newbies; Even in early 2001 shops were already discounting the kits.

Yet I am still backordered on every WW2 sparepart through the 'official' channels... haven't seen any arrive yet in the last 3 yrs. [] (yes, I know Tower stocks them, thanks)

Discontinued?, aaggghhhhhh, just started getting all my m8's into them. Maybe i need another NIB in the loft for future spares, lol, but then again, i'll just wait for willy 3. hee hee,[]

How does Tamiya thinks to make profit on developing a whole new chassis and discontinuing it that quickly? [] Maybe they weren't selling good at all and the just discontinued it to avoid even bigger financial losses... [] (Didn't something similar happened with the BigWig and the Avante?) I think I really should get myself one but that goes for SOO many cars... [|)] I like the origional one more, personally. It's on my 'wishlist' (below cars like the SS, hilux, and 959 though...[])
