As an enthusiastic box art builder, i have just completed the restoration of a vintage 58003 Tyrrel P34 to the box art and paint scheme set out in the instruction manual. Being a bit fussy about getting things historically correct as far a realsim goes, i then looked online at pictures of the real P34 from back in the day, only to find, that the driver numbers were wrong.

In the instructions, it shows that car number 3 was Patrick Dapailler, and car number 4 was Ronnie Peterson, when in fact, it was the other way around. Much peeling of decals happened after that...:angry:

What makes it more laughable, is that Tamiya actually have the real car in their own museum, so no excuses for getting it wrong.

Are there other instances that anyone knows of where the instructions and box art are wrong?

The manual on TC shows the Peterson car as #3, and shows which decals to replace for Depailler;
