SO, the coffee can map from Tamiya's Japan show referred to in Yantao's "Re-Re" thread shows a Rough Rider ...

Would anyone pay $1000+ for a NIB Rough Rider at this point??

How 'bout the SS, SC or ladder trucks?

Check out the thread from Yangtao under "Clue to Tamiya's Re-release Plans" and look closely at the color photos of the miniatures...

you guys are getting way ahead of yourself. It's doubtful that the Rough rider would be re-released and even if it did, it would most likely have a completely different chassis similar to how they re-re the wild willy. I could see a Rough rider body on a DF-02 chassis

At 10 paces away, that'll look like a Baja King/Champ [:P] to a myopic gimp like me.

I have not been on the site but could not resist this one. Shodog is right on the mark...A re-release would not be of same materials..A Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher, Ford XLT and Super Champ are classics...The Origial Wild Willy is still getting big dollars even with the WWII re-release..Regards Jerry

Tru wandy, but... heck, as tamiya nutters seems we never get enough of this one :(

a hot topic.. is / was... and will be even after a re release if it comes !

imho, a re-release will come, before the end of 2006 or beginning of 2007. (a SRB, being a SS or a RR... don't know) ..

pleiku, the WWI and II are just a close match as a TA02 bmw M3 and re release TT01 version,

fully diffrent chassis, same body (for the bmw anyway), the wild willy has some body changes

also.

Think it can better been seen as a "version 2" as a re release.

I think they will look the same on the box but will have a plastic 2 wheel drive buggy underneath the shell.

I think people who are concerned and are selling there SRBs will be in for a desapointment in the future[:(]

Be prepared! According to Tamiya's Research and Developement Dept. Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher, Super Champ and Bruiser are on the re-issue Horizon starting summer of 2006 to winter 2007. They are said to be released in original form and box art and will be a very limited amount geared toward collectors and enthusiasts. Prices will be pretty hefty too. If my resources weren't so strong, i wouldn't have sold all of these i had NIB over the last 2 months. Prices on originals will drop a bit , but will eventually go back up once the re-issues sell out. It is doubtful you will ever see 2nd re-issues of these kits ever again after that. It is going to be awesome to buy some of these at reasonable prices to have a few runners and NIB for the future.

I hope it isn the same R&D department that brought us that bulletproof Juggernaut drivetrain.

all kidding aside, I will believe it when I see. And if they do, my Paypal card will be ready and waiting.

Oh I agree, the anticipation of more re-releases is one of the most exciting things going down on this forum at the moment...and I'm in the same camp as those who believe at least one SRB will get the re-re treatment. My gut feeling tells me that these coffee jar miniatures is a deliberate hint by Mr T at what he definitely plans to release.

When it's all over and dusted those who were right, whichever way it goes, can have a good natured gloat.[:)]

Yes, you figured me out. I'm telling everyone this so they will post all of their kits on Ebay and i can buy them all up at top dollar. Come on. Be realistic. I have sent so many letters and emails to Tamiya (Japan)and have run across many people associated with Tamiya over the years. I feel that my contacts and info is strong enough that i sold off most of my vintage kits that are supposed to be in this re-issue line-up. I just figure that selling now for top dollar is better than trying to get top dollar when everyone and their mother is posting these kits after the official release announcements. Just because i choose to do this doesn't mean everyone else should. I'm not Mr.Tamiya, I'm just relaying info. I figured this info would be interesting to pass on being this is a Tamiya Enthusiast Club, but instead of getting thanks for sharing this news, all i have been getting is criticism. You are the 3rd and last person i am replying to today that felt the need to criticise, so from now on i will no longer pass on information about anything i hear. So far, every topic on this forum i read postings on, had people that just wanted to criticise and argue with each other, resulting in the Site Host asking people to calm down. I thought this club was going to be different from the typical Tamiya Forums, but i guess i was wrong.id="red">

I think the problem is Robby Hobby that you have posted these "news" items along with every other re-release theory - everyone is now sceptical.

I have friends that work in Tamiya and yet I have not heard of the RR being released, (if I had - I would not be able to tell on these, or any other forums anyway).

I dont think any negative comments were specifically directed at you mate - just that everyone, I think (and hope), is getting tired of the specualtion...............

"Just let the re-releases happen whenever they are ready" is the way I look at it.....

Cheers

Darryn

p.s - I wont be selling my originals if there is a re-release - as they are not the originals.....but that topic has been done to death as well![;)]

I don't really think it is that important. If you look at your collection in monetary terms then you are collecting for the wrong reasons. Would a RR be any less cool if it cost 1 dollar? I don't think so. But I am sure others might disagree.
