@Problemchild steering works when plugged directly into the receiver!

So when the lighting kit is in its place (connector orientated in the same way when viewing the metal tabs) and then the same servo cable is connected into the lighting kit then it all goes wrong?

The connectors only plug in one way.  So weird.  I'm upping the ante and offering a bottle of liquor along with the case of beer.. :-)

I’d disconnect the light kit, get the lunchbox working again with the servo and ESC and be sure that works.

Then I’d disconnect the servo and ESC and plug the light kit only in and get the instructions and make sure that all works

my non tamiya kit instructions are like this

I think I may need to buy this light kit.  The trouble is that I’ve already hardwired this shonky kit into heaven shell!

Arrrghh!  No the car won’t even talk to the transmitter.

I need to go to bed, or I’ll get dumped.

It won’t show it’s connected if you’ve disconnected the servos :)

bed is a good idea and a rethink and logical approach tomorrow Is needed

Thanks, pal.

I’d disconnected it all to star afresh, but now the ESC keeps bleeping.  I’ll re-pair and reset.

Will keep you posted!

This looks to be an interesting challenge. Let me know if you'd like me to jump in - you appear to be in good hands, but I have a couple of ideas...

Will do, mate.

I’ve just tried to go through the high point set-up, but it won’t work, so have put the battery on charge in case there’s no enough juice.
