Jay77 9 Posted June 11, 2020 Silly question, it’ll use the same motor mount?
Jay77 9 Posted June 11, 2020 Also, there are quite a few gools, which one should I order? thanks, guys jay
TurnipJF 9112 Posted June 11, 2020 Motor mount is the same, hole spacing is the same, shaft size is the same - nice and simple to fit. I'd go for something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoolRC-Waterproof-3650-3500KV-Brushless-Motor-with-60A-ESC-Combo-Set-UK-STOCK/401858525398 Just make sure you get a proper fullsize 540 motor, recognisable by the smooth outer casing. The ones with deeply finned cases are smaller motors in disguise.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 11, 2020 Yup the orange 3650 at £31 is what you want if it has ridges around the motor it’s a 380 motor in a 540 shell JJ
Jay77 9 Posted June 11, 2020 Thanks, guys. I’ll order tonight...!

Jay77 9 Posted June 13, 2020 Hey guys, Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. ******, got an email saying the motor has been delayed (it was already due in July). That being said, I’ve found a model shop not far from Guildford that I can go to next week. Any recommendations from this place? https://www.addlestone-models.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?page=search&SS=Brushless+motor+&PR=-1&TB=O&ACTION=Go! Problemchild 2149 Posted June 13, 2020 I’ve just ordered some sports tuned motors from China - 2 weeks is fine JJ
Jay77 9 Posted June 14, 2020 BTW, are LiPo batteries a good investment. I’ve read a lot of horror stories about them blowing up and burning houses down...! Jay
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 14, 2020 Yes and no they take a lot more looking after than normal batteries balance charging Discharging them to a storage voltage not discharging them too much and a different charger they are way better than they used to be in terms of spontaneously combusting JJ
Jay77 9 Posted June 14, 2020 Hmmmm.... this sounds like a step too far for a newbie like me!
Jay77 9 Posted June 14, 2020 Guys, Whilst I’m waiting, I’ve ordered the King Yellow (I need something to build). Any tips on this model? Keep safe, guys. Jay
TurnipJF 9112 Posted June 15, 2020 That should be a fun build. You'll want bearings, oil shocks and a steel pinion for starters, as well as a second servo if you want to build it with 4-wheel steering.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 15, 2020 Yeah bearings always JJ
Jay77 9 Posted June 15, 2020 Thankfully, I’ve got two spare packs of bearings :-) This looks like a super complicated build, so it should keep off the streets for a few nights! J
Jay77 9 Posted June 16, 2020 Hey Guys, Any tips on how to correct the camber on my LB? Jay
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 17, 2020 It’s because of the suspension set up - that’s how it is youd need a similar set up to the guy running 6s to make it right JJ
TurnipJF 9112 Posted June 17, 2020 I wouldn't say it needs correcting as such, since it isn't really a fault, more of a consequence of the design. However you can get double wishbone conversions 3D-printed. They provide superior geometry, but typically aren't as strong as the stock arrangement.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 17, 2020 Better off buying a Blackfoot JJ
Jay77 9 Posted June 18, 2020 Hey guys, My TBLE-02 and Gool Motor and ESC have arrived! However, the Gool’s ESC connections don’t marry up with the battery. Can we use the TBLE-02? also, can someone help me with set-up, so I don’t fry something again? I’ll fit the motor in the meantime. Jay
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 18, 2020 Yeah - I just use an adaptor for tamiya batteries but if you do go lipo it’s the correct one Can’t remember if the tamiya ESC does sensorless just get an adaptor deans to tamiya Fly RC 4pcs Tamiya Plug Female Connector to Deans T Plug Male Connector Adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082W8L8WM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9.46EbBKA26YA i think that’s the one delivered tomorrow JJ
