Motor mount is the same, hole spacing is the same, shaft size is the same - nice and simple to fit.

I'd go for something like this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoolRC-Waterproof-3650-3500KV-Brushless-Motor-with-60A-ESC-Combo-Set-UK-STOCK/401858525398

Just make sure you get a proper fullsize 540 motor, recognisable by the smooth outer casing. The ones with deeply finned cases are smaller motors in disguise.

Yup the orange 3650 at £31 is what you want

if it has ridges around the motor it’s a 380 motor in a 540 shell

Hey guys,

I’ve just ordered this...  is it the right one?

So sorry to be a pain.

Hey guys,

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

******, got an email saying the motor has been delayed (it was already due in July).

That being said, I’ve found a model shop not far from Guildford that I can go to next week.

Any recommendations from this place?

BTW, are LiPo batteries a good investment.  I’ve read a lot of horror stories about them blowing up and burning houses down...!

Yes and no ;)

they take a lot more looking after than normal batteries

balance charging

Discharging them to a storage voltage

not discharging them too much

and a different charger

they are way better than they used to be in terms of spontaneously combusting

Guys,

Whilst I’m waiting, I’ve ordered the King Yellow (I need something to build).

Any tips on this model?

Keep safe, guys.

That should be a fun build. You'll want bearings, oil shocks and a steel pinion for starters, as well as a second servo if you want to build it with 4-wheel steering.

Thankfully, I’ve got two spare packs of bearings :-)

This looks like a super complicated build, so it should keep off the streets for a few nights!

It’s because of the suspension set up - that’s how it is

youd need a similar set up to the guy running 6s to make it right

I wouldn't say it needs correcting as such, since it isn't really a fault, more of a consequence of the design. However you can get double wishbone conversions 3D-printed. They provide superior geometry, but typically aren't as strong as the stock arrangement.

Hey guys,

My TBLE-02 and Gool Motor and ESC have arrived!  However, the Gool’s ESC connections don’t marry up with the battery.  Can we use the TBLE-02?

also, can someone help me with set-up, so I don’t fry something again?

I’ll fit the motor in the meantime.

Yeah - I just use an adaptor for tamiya batteries but if you do go lipo it’s the correct one :)

Can’t remember if the tamiya ESC does sensorless

just get an adaptor

deans to tamiya
