ThunderDragonCy 7776 Posted June 3, 2020 So i have recently built a pretty OG vintage spec Thunder Dragon. Because i had it, and because i thought it might suit the vintage nature i threw a 1060 esc and 17t brushed motor in with the smallest 13t pinion. No, i realise the t'shot gearbox is quite high geared, it's one of the thibgs i like about it, but i am on the smallest gearing and whilst it goes well, it is burning hot after 20-25 minutes grass running. Have i got a draggy drivetrain somewhere or do i need to go slower and run a 21t? What are other peoples' experience? Seems odd a vintage runner doesn't play nice with a 17t. Cheers! Butler 338 Posted June 3, 2020 20mins on grass is probably pretty hard on a motor with any gearing. When these cars were new, you were fortunate to get 5mins on run time.
