Me and my lad nearly finished our madcap resto. Just waiting on the super astute front tower to arrive to replace the cracked madcap tower.

Lots of screw holes were cracked allover the car.

Anyone know of good glue that fixes abs?

Also, which parts on the madcap are interchangeable with the super astute?  Thanks

What do you think guys?

Looks great, the lightweight wheels are also what I used on my Madcap, they just look awesome on everything. Tamiya make a specific ABS cement, so I’d probably start there

No.  Although the Super Astute gearbox is a direct fit on to a Madcap, the gearbox moulding is slightly different in order to accommodate the slipper clutch components - specifically the main shaft which is live and runs on bearings.  Unlike the Madcap and Astute with their fixed shafts on which the spur gear rotates.

The original TTC gearbox  is a sought after collectable and will fetch a high price, especially new in box.  The newer design isn't available as a one box hop up option, like the original, but it will be possible to collect the separate components (with a bit of searching) and fit it to the Madcap.  The modern TTC slipper clutch is of a fairly generic and standardised design, compared to the original, but this will allow optional spur gears to be fitted.  I think they're the same design as those used on the DF03 chassis.

Both TTC transmissions are geared for a high revving motor to get some respectable speed from them, but at least the newer version will allow you to fit a smaller spur gear if your choice of motors are on the tame side.  The original TTC was designed with modified motors in mind and was often pictured with the Dynatech 02H motor which revved at around 25,000 rpm, a good 10,000 rpm higher than a silver can motor.

The updated Super Astute instructions suggest fitting a brushless motor, so once again, high revs are the order of the day.

BITD I had some silly hot motors in the original TTC transmission on a madcap chassis. Eking five minutes of race time out of them on 1400 SCRs was quite the challenge.
