It's the same car with a different body/wheels. I prefer the Racing Fighter myself.

Same, +1 for the Neo Fighter, I think the slender body suits the chassis. Better front tyres for tarmac too, out of the box.

The only difference is the Bodyshell.

Both are super entry level Cars with Oilshocks and a tourque tuned Motor.
I just want to point out that you can make a super "Frog Hommage" Paintjob with the Neo Fighter, also you can make a Grasshopper or Hornet Paintjob, here you have to decide wich Bodyshell you like more for Stuff like that

I think they are such a great looking chassis. Clear windows and a driver figure to set it off. I built mine a while ago and now have a few hop ups waiting for it. Hoping to start it next week.

Here it is stock with some nice pink Astral wheels.

Carbon towers, DF03 dampers, alloy servo mount and I'm gonna make up some turnbuckles.

The stripes on the Racing Fighter make it go slightly faster :)

I prefer the Racing Fighter. I've done mine up as a modern take on a the Hornet.

DT03 is a great just above entry level kit. I love the drive of my near stock Racing Fighter.

I think if you do a quick search you'll find there are plenty of upgrades that are still available. There are more than a few build threads on TC to give you some inspiration.

Here is my Hornet inspired DT03....

Here it is in an old post.

Here’s my quite modified DT03 racing fighter.

DT03

amongst other additions, this sports dt03 shocks, carbon damper mounts, egress wheels and tyres, and a flagrant disregard for the body cut lines.

Feels much more old school than the racing fighter but still basically identical to the original kit

How does it run?

Thanks everyone I have gone for a Neo Fighter build

Planning carbon front and rear shock towers probably leave stock motor in 🤔 would like some tarmac friendly rear tyres some that I can colour the writing on preferably 😋 would like some thoughts on some hop up shocks please plus any built Neo Fighters out their let's see them folks 😁

👍👍

To be fair, the cva's that come with the kit are pretty decent. But if you want some better ones then maybe look at the DF03 shocks. They are not cheap but are very nice and would complement the carbon damper stays.

Very nicely. Ran it on smoothish sandy gravel mostly. Nice balance need to play with the shocks a bit to see if stiffening it helps a little.

As mentioned, the kit cvas are pretty good. Get some tamiya red o-rings for them and that's a good hop up. Some stiffer rear springs (i got the 53927 DF03 set and use the gold springs. Core RC 2.6 long springs also work well). 0roline Hoozier worth a look for tarmac tyres with writing on them.

I designed some 3D printed toe in rear uprights which improve traction, but you need the turnbuckle set and the steel driveshaft hop ups to fit them. They are here if you are interested.

While adding hop ups, how about fitting the alloy gearbox bridges? They don't add a lot of bling value since they are mostly hidden, but they are really useful as reinforcements since if the stock plastic ones break, they usually take the chassis and/or gearbox with them.

Hi everyone. First post here.

So lockdown seems to have bought me back to the RC world, as it appears to have done for quite a few! I already had a couple of 20+ year old Tamiyas - a TA-02 Escort Cosworth and a FF-01 Honda Civic, both runners that come out every once in a while, especially as my youngest son has his own RC (a RTR Ripmax Husky that he loves).

Having decided that the two older cars were a bit fragile I started to look at options for adding a new model to my collection. After a fair bit of research I decided on a TT-02SR which I added a few additional hop-ups to. Whilst it is great and really flies its been a bit hard to find a good space to get the best out of it during lockdown. We started taking my son and his Husky to the local woods on our walks and found some nice jumps that the local teen bikers have built which he can't get enough of. I decided that perhaps a second new addition so that I could join him would be the order of the day. After a bit of a look I found the Neo Fighter on Tamico for what seemed like a bargain and a few days later it arrived.

I'd already decided on an orange and black colour scheme for the touring car shell I bought for the TT-02 so wanted to go with the same scheme for the buggy - plus, as I hadn't sprayed the touring car shell yet I thought it would be good practice. I was slightly concerned that it wouldn't work with the decals but I had already bought the paint by then. I'm actually really pleased with how it turned out. Its by no means perfect but I like it. Just need some recommendations for some black wheels now!
