07LowRider 18 Posted June 12, 2020 I have been searching YouTube and have been unable to find any how to vids on how to swap a manual speed control to an electronic speed control. Any help would be appreciated.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 12, 2020 Remove manual speed controller and servo and resistor ESC plugs into motor like MSC did ESC plugs into receiver where MSC did done JJ
07LowRider 18 Posted June 12, 2020 Nothing to do with the steering servo?
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 12, 2020 Nope that stays in ch1 of the receiver ESC goes in ch2 the “structure” that the MSC is mounted to can come out too if you want what car? JJ
07LowRider 18 Posted June 12, 2020 Thanks JJ. It’s a vintage midnight pumpkin.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 12, 2020 OR leave everything in place. you have lots of space. unplug the servo wire from the receiver and the motor wires from the MSC fit the ESC and connect to motor and Ch2 then you have the retro look and less work JJ
07LowRider 18 Posted June 12, 2020 Took the old parts out. Is a cooling fan necessary? It is noticeably faster in forward with great wheelies. Not a huge fan of the responsiveness of reverse though.
Problemchild 2149 Posted June 12, 2020 It’s a massive change going from MSC to ESC because there is no “slam it into reverse” and your initial application of reverse is purely braking. then once you’ve stopped you can apply reverse. Saves gearboxes don’t need a fan unless running a big battery JJ
