New Member getting back into the hobby Subaru TT02 Monte Carlo

Recommended Posts

Like many I got the RC bug during this pandemic. I found a Kyosho Optima Mid at an estate sale which I semi restored but I haven't built an RC car from scratch since I was a teenager.

I wanted to share my build as a new member and I'm sure it won't be my last car. I'm eyeing one of the Porsche kits but not sure which one I will end up with. After a few runs I got tired of cleaning out the chassis so I ordered a Dusty Motors cover.

Welcome!

I like the looks of that cover. Which size did you get, how well does it fit, where did it come from and how much was it may I ask?

Thanks TurnipJP

I ordered from dustymotors.com (I'm in the U.S. and they are in Europe. Total shipping time was about 3 weeks.)

Small universal cover Item #SRD-0001 Color: Black (Cover comes with enough velcro)

Width: 28 CM or 11 inches

Length: 27 CM or 8.3 Inches

Weight: 99g

I threw in some extra velcro here was the total cost.

27.99 Euro for the cover

9.99 Euro for the velcro

5.99 Euro for shipping

Total: 43.97 Euro

I found a youtube video on how to get measurements. It's a perfect fit for the Tamiya TT02 Chassis. I had to make a small hole for the antenna. They make chassis specific covers as well, but they don't have any for Tamiya. You will likely have to get a universal cover for a Tamiya kit.

I like the older subaru imprezza, that cover looks good, I hate having a dirty chassis.
