Help with TXT-2 please.

Recommended Posts

So I want to buy a TXT-2 monster truck. I was wondering what are some upgrades for this truck that are suggested? I was thinking at least new shocks and wondering on a ESC and motors. The 2 battery setup would probably be too pricey for me. I was looking at this link on youtube where they went all out. Is there a chassis brace for this I know the Super Clod Buster has one that was recommended that I got for mine. I dont want it so fast that it's doing wheelies all the time. Could I maybe do an Nimh cell battery with this ESC:

Check out the upgrades on the video:

I have this ESC in my Super Clod Buster:

And 2 of these 23T motors:

I would like it to be a little faster than my Super Clod Buster.

Any ideas on motors for me or a different ESC. I am open to all suggestions! Thanks guys for all your help!

I would like to run the aforementioned ESC here:

If you look at the specs I believe it says with a 6 cell NiMH you can use 2 12T motors. I wouldn't want to heat up the esc too much so I want to go with 2 15T motors or so. Any recommendations for 2 motors? Would this work? Thanks for any help!

Anyone? If I dont find a couple motors to use with that Hobbywing 880 I will probably buy a different monster truck.  Please help with the motors! Also is there a wheelie bar for this TXT 2? I dont really want it doing wheelies honestly.

You could just use one powerful motor and cover up the other motor slot with a piece of lexan?

I've run twin 15T HPI Firebolt brushed motors in my TXT before. They're sealed can motors and aren't outrageously powerful but are pretty cheap. I also run them in my Clods since they're neutral timed.

I found the HPI motor at a.s.a.p. hobbies. Is the dynamite motor as good as the HPI or better? I like that the dynamite motor is found at amain hobbies.

Sorry, the only experience I have with the Dynamite motor is I got one in a used RC10 from Ebay once and it was burnt up. The Tower Hobbies reviews range from "its a good little motor" to "motor fried after only about 6 runs". Such are internet reviews. I'm sure others have had problems with the HPI Firebolt too...nothing seems perfect nowadays, but I've personally purchased about 5 of them without issue. Your mileage may vary. They are available on Ebay from $15-$20.
