you'd think i'd clear the table off?

i do on a bi-daily basis but in fifteen minutes it looks the same for some reason:lol:

Waiting on Duco cement. actually  it's UHU brand made in Germany, i read somewhere that Duco's formula is not the same that it used to be, so i researched on found this recommendation on a Guitar forum.

hey if this product can Rock Out than it belongs in the Navy

Glued and then West Systems resin 105/206 with 1" strip of fiberglass along inside seam.  Seems that the seams need to be slightly sanded on Sunday at the seashore before it gets sunny so it suggests that the surface is smooth.

Lil' dab of Bondo...

jBdVtdk.jpg

There are three different Sails that came with this kit Late War, Post War Guppy II and shown below Early War, i will assemble  the other two later.

i'll be making my own details that do not come with this kit, railings, 20mm Oerlikon gun (Cannon), chocks, cleats, hatches & range lights ect... that's where the fun really begins

motor mounts, ready? can you gag on this? two brass eyelets and rubber bands to hold down two side by side 380 motors NO THANK YOU!

So my generous supply of aluminum pieces has come into the fold, some Gorilla Adhesive lil' CA spotted for instant grip and Voila, just need to (drill) tap and die add SS screws and it will be a Leviathan Grip for the motors and the servos.

Contemplating on powering this Pirate ship up?

once the deck is cut away (the hard part) it's  just the matter of fitting every thing inside and West Systems & #2 FG over the hull and done, rudder will take a little doing but it's only time.

now typing all that i will do it... give the Sub something to hunt:lol:

here's somethn' while paint dries...

A Whale Of A Tale

Kirk Douglas from 20,000 Leagues under the Sea

Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two
'Bout the flapping fish and girls I've loved
On nights like this with the moon above
A whale of a tale and it's all true,
I swear by my tatoo
There was Mermaid Minnie
Met her down in Madagascar
She would kiss me
Anytime that I would ask her
Then one evening
Her flame of love blew out
Blow me down and pick me up,
She swapped me for a trout!
Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two
'Bout the flapping fish and girls I've loved
On nights like this with the moon above
A whale of a tale and it's all true,
I swear by my tatoo
There was Typhoon Tessie
Met her on the coast of Java
When we kissed I
Bubbled up like molten lava
Then she gave me
The scare of my young life
Blow me down, and pick me up
She was the captain's wife!
Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two
'Bout the flapping fish and girls I've loved
On nights like this with the moon above
A whale of a tale and it's all true,
I swear by my tatoo
Then there was Harpoon Hannah
Had a face that made you shudder
Lips like Fish hooks
And a nose just like a rudder
If I kissed her
And held her tenderly
There's no sea monster big enough
To ever scare me!
Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two
'Bout the flapping fish and girls I've loved
On nights like this with the moon above
A whale of a tale and it's all true,
I swear by my tatoo!

going from base to tip:

Black base was? anyways had a hard rubber piece inside (that kept the barrel from swiveling) drill through and insert barrel.

disposable lighter thumb depress plunger (yes, the part that lets the butane out) vertical, the other half using as side rails is the other half horizontal, two parts out of one piece.

pen part over black rubber tube slipped over barrel.

Picatinny rail from train set building parts.

little milky white pieces (will paint later) those are from under the keys we press when typing on the keys (button pads thingamajigs,

they're hinged, and they were lots of fun to find out they'd work for this.

Now one more to create.

Ps this is nowhere close to the size of a 20mm gun hmm? :blink:must of measured wrong it's a lil' small:lol:

i've used this material for fencing and various projects for my train sets as well, Galvanized vent screen for railings. i'll be doing cleats from N scale railroad track rails,

shows a bell at the  aft of plans, it'll be a  barrel necklace clasp (gold/brass tone)and other  lil' bead assortments for mock lighting and other details,

this may never end;)

Just now, had been a thought but didn't register until i started the details.

What to use for ladder grab rungs? AH! HA! 1/4" crown air gun staples.

plans show 3/32" width but who's splittn' hairs?

it'll work, now i'll start lookn' for some sailors, frogmen and a Capt'n. hey! that'll be me.

i dig rack'n the Ol' noodle, if it weren't for the trains, there would have been purchasing and waiting for parts and then no fun creating.

Scratch build is part of why i like building, not to save money The Lord knows the time it takes to do these things (and sometimes they end up in the round file).

i'm wet sanding and applying a Satin Clear coat.

I emailed Hobbywing about the QuicRun 880 ESC (the dual motor brushed ESC) and they responded, yes with the 380 motors will be fine.

And a Special Thank you! to All the Ones that click the Like Button, this is truly what keeps me sane:blink: well sort of.

now if i could just make this thing fly also?

Let's ask Mr. Owl...

He says 33" long.

Height  about 9" to top of periscope 1 depending on which sail, I'll be magnetizing the sails bottoms so as to change them out on occasion.

Upper left are thumb strikers from lighters they'll be the capstan's on the sub's deck.

Pins for barrels, springs are from earring hooks, right below is a pen clicker depress button tip with a cigarette flame adjuster lever around it and glued to its end is a broach pin hinge.

now the white plastic thumb lever style safety catch mechanism ( is from? i can not remember ) but i have used these before,

at the gas station Island at Rexall's for the pump station machines (housings)on my N Scale layout...
