Optima mid help please

Recommended Posts

I am currently restoring an optima mid and the kit I have bought does not have a motor plate (the small piece of aluminium which goes in between the motor and the motor mount).  Is this needed to mount the motor?  Any one know what it is for and if it's necessary.

Thanks

Lee

I recall I saw a rebuild and the user did not install the plate, itds probably just for insulation and temp

Check The Optima  mid build thread in the builds section. I believe this is where the Op didnt use the plate.

I've a nip one somewhere, I bought thinking I'd need it, but never fitted it.

Running a 5.5t brushless, and the motor does get toasty after some hard running,  but fitted a fan to cool the motor.

You wouldn't happen to have a counter and centre gear for a mid would you
