Dark Impact DF-03 White Edition pimped...

Recommended Posts

Well,

I cant seem to get enough of these DF-03....

Picked up a White version cheap and punked it ;-)

Forgot to take few shots on the way... but I am thinking of either a new Red Shell, or swapping it out for a shell from the Avante MK2 in Red...

Will see....

That looks spot on. I think the blue suspension arms are just the right amount of blue.

Obviously it would be far faster, more powerful and grippier if the shock towers were the anodised blue versions but then it wouldnt look as nice.

Looks great. But those tires right on the edge of the railing made me a little nervous!

Ha ha true!! My luck is so typically bad with stuff like that that I would never risk it. After setting it up and taking the photos there would be a 100% chance of me reachibg over to pick it up only to accidently punch it off the balcony.

Any particular reason you installed an aluminum front shock tower but left the rear one stock plastic? That detail immediately jumped out at me as soon as I saw the first picture.

Nice build overall, makes me wonder if it would look nice to have the white edition stickers on a standard black dark impact with blue bits... hmm...

Lovely car. The "Ice Queen" treatment really suits the DF03. I'm still kicking myself for not picking one up, and I'll grab one as soon as one pops up. I still haven't driven a DF03, either, so a regular one for a driver is on the list, too.

One thing I like about Tamiya is that if a car isn't what you want for a driver, they're still so good looking that you don't feel cheated. If you put static model type effort into the bodies, they're still a decent value as displays, especially the TT and GT kits.

Cant find any... all the usual shops have none in stock.

Only seems to be the front available...

Agreed - but on the other hand that is a lovely red. What colour is it and what is it backed with. Got a great depth to it.
