Gazzalene 171 Posted July 14, 2020 Out of my depth when it comes to suspension set up and tuning. I have a monster truck ( I realise about the MT section) and have moved the shocks to a more scale look But this has raised the ride height so I need to lower it. How do you do this utilising the supplied shocks? Is this when you put a spacer on the piston in shock? if that's the case what are the draw backs? can it damage the shock with a heavy landing. Any info on shock adapting wpuld really help
Mark_C 198 Posted July 14, 2020 What exactly do you mean by " moved the shocks to a more scale look" ? What car is it ?
Gazzalene 171 Posted July 14, 2020 SMT10, standard the shocks are not vertical.the bottoms spread out. when mounted more vertical the ride height increases.
Saito2 6686 Posted July 14, 2020 Ok, I see what you mean. Yeah, I usually just put a spacer inside the shock, under the piston to lower their extended length. Never had a problem doing it that way. This does cut down on overall shock travel. How much lower do you want it or rather how much shock travel do you intend to limit by lowering it?
