Yeah it was only a matter of time! Good news though! Hopefully an affordable price?

Is this the same chassis as the Avante?

Not originally, it had a moulded plastic tub chassis rather than the avante/egress style frp or graphite lower and upper deck style chassis.

Is it fair to say the Vanquish is similar to the Avante like the Manta Ray is similar to the Top Force?  Same general chassis design but with many differences throughout the kit?

Yes, but change avante to egress.

Vanquish was actually a lower spec avante. The avante 2001 was the lower spec egress

Lower spec, but better performing. The Vanquish received all the plastic suspension arms that would go on the Egress. While it was "dumbed down" with plastic CVA shocks, metal bushings, a 540 silvercan and an MSC, the front shock angle was improved and the steering was less sloppy. It also had the Egress's longer wheelbase, used lightweight wheels (narrower up front like the Egress) and was lighter overall than the Avante. The Vanquish was more durable to boot.

Avante was a prototype, Vanquish the first model of a branch that ended up being Vanquish, 2001, Egress in order of equipment / finish.

But yeah, awesome that they've decided to re re it. Would get one.

Now I'm torn.  Might cancel my Wild One backorder and wait for this....or more realistically I'll get both.

Somehow this should be the Tamiya club motto...
