toyolien Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Looking for recommendations for some good foam inserts as I'm trying to finish up my Konghead. I have used these in the past, but find them a little too soft.: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/schumacher-1-10th-truck-2-2-foam-tyre-insert-soft-/rc-car-products/16890 I really like the Proline 6194-00 dual stage truck foams in my Lunchbox but they're long discontinued. Has anyone tried the Proline closed cell truck foams in Lunchbox tires? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-1-10th-truck-closed-cell-inserts-2-/rc-car-products/359771 1
•Axle Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I have used these in both of the GF-01s I’ve put together, they’re definitely not soft and feel quite ‘blown up’ as it were. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111819926022 1
toyolien Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 How odd. I know Martin from rcbitz and hadn't even thought about those. Thank you. I'll get some ordered. How are they in the wet? 1
isomer1 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I'm a big fan of Crawler Innovation's CWR-3013 foams, but sadly they, like the Prolines, have been discontinued. Thanks for the recommendation @•Axle 1

How are they in the wet? I’ve driven back from the park and walks a few times in the wet, it’s hard to tell really because of what the car is. Up hill it’s brilliant, with a 3300kv and short squirts of the throttle I’m getting up quite steep inclines without backwards rolling and grips really well with the big Vs.
toyolien Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Ordered from RCBitz. I'll see how they go. I really like the Proline closed cell inserts, but at nearly 40 quid for 6, I'm not sure I can justify it. We'll see.
ajdragon01 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Hi If you don't mind me asking, what inserts did you have links too. I am also looking for inserts for my Konghead.

RCvet Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Am I the only one who has used whatever foam came in some delivery package or I could find, cut to length, glue in circle and made my own. Not for anything serious racing, but I used to do that on Kyosho Big Brute which has about as much precision as a Lunchbox. I have even done it on the CC-02 rock block tires. 1
ajdragon01 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Hi I would try cutting them down my self, but unfortunately the last time I tried they didn't turn out right, and my hands have only gotten more shaky since then.
RCvet Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Aaah, that matters then. I would add though racers and crawlers become obsessed with some unicorn mythical foam property, for running a Lunchbox around whatever fits is likely fine. Given it is a Lunchbox you could probably shove a PB&J sandwich in them and achieve results
