... Because I am banking on the Vanquish/VQS having much less desirable packaging, thereby saving me from the inevitable revelations about the passage of time, entropy, and the fragility of mortality as I discard it to build the kit contained within?

I do!. It was my second Tamiya car and my first new built model

 I picked a good time to get back into Tamiya this year as after selling all my many cars about 4 years ago I drew a line in the sand and said to myself I would only buy whatever they rerelease from 2020 . So far it’s super astute. Avante black and terra scorcher . Nice cars!. I picked up the obligatory Regress and top force ad well but now sticking to whatever they rere!. 
I can’t handle having dozens of kits around anyway, gets too much.
