Hi people,

I perfectly know the Hi Cap dampers and the Sleeved dampers, they are still the best on the market but don't know anything about new blue anodized ones for Gravel Hound. So some question please:

1 do they fit the old Hi Cap dampers? Have the same lenght or not?

2 How they work?

3 Are they expensive and where on the web can I buy some?

I'm located in Italy and Fantasyland, the official Tamiya importers, often doesn't import the better Tamiya parts...

Cheers and thanks

That's a good question, Max. I've been wondering that myself. Do you know the part # for those dampers? -Steve

Hello, I can't answer any of your questions except for: How much?

I was shocked when I saw how cheap they were. I saw them in my LHS today for $59.99 CAD.

About $50 uSD.

Cheap in my opinion for all 4 shocks. Tamiya shocks are normally much more costly!

Hi Max,

I can get them from my LHS but they're $90AUS (57.56 euro) Then you'd have postage on top. I found a shop www.rcmart.com and if search the site under DF 02 parts they have them for $45.50US (38.89 euro) I have also found their postage costs to be good. Better get in quick because of the Christmas postal delays.

Hi Max,

I have a Gravel Hound and the standard shocks fit on my Super Astute. Your 2001/Egress monster has longer front shock travel than standard so I would say they would also fit that.

Surely if the new dampers fit the Gravel Hound and the standard Gravel Hound dampers fit the Astute and 2001 then the new shocks will fit also?

I hope so because I'm getting a set for my Super Astute! (you twisted my arm!)

Worst case is they need different mounting hardware. I have a pack of 53488 (OP-488) Adjustable Ball Connectors (For Damper Attachment) incase I run into any problems.

I honestly think we'll be fine with the hardware on the cars and what comes with the dampers.

Cheers,

Chris
