Nope, sorry. My phone was on timing duty. Here is a still photo of the car though:

A quick update, as we are not far from the 2022 season opener! We have six different "venues" (five, to be technical ) that can host the next round:

- Special Stage Route 2.5

- Trial Hill

- Grastens' Plain Raceway (Junior Circuit)

- Special Stage Route 5.5

- Trop-Petit Le Mans

- Apricot Slope Raceway

Anybody who has played the first two Gran Turismo video games might figure out where I get my inspiration from ;) I used the last two track layouts to inform the next one, i.e. a running area of little more than 8 m x 5 m and between 7 - 9 corner markers. I seem to like tight curves :P

Edit: And from these, we have a track layout! (approval pending)

Kg6UEQl.jpg

Hopefully, the information should be clear as to the configuration. @TurnipJF or @Ferruz, if you could please moderate/administrate this thread/circuit entry to get the next round going, it would be much appreciated :) Thanks!

Edit 2: there will be an update to the above layout later today - Cone Marker 8 will be moved to (5, 4) for simplification, and a more traditional "line" map as in Rounds 17 and 18 will be added to this thread.

The final version is out now:

And for those who prefer something similar to the previous format for Rounds 17 and 18:

And I fully expect everybody to go straight past the eighth corner marker for the fastest line - just clearing that up ;)

Looking forward to the start of the new year!

Since none have raised any objections, let it hereby be known that the layout for Round 19 (or shall we reset and call it Round 1?), which bridges the end of 2021 and the start of 2022, is as per @Grastens's post above.

Usual rules, please see the first post of the thread if you are new or need a reminder. Here is a link to the form for submitting your lap counts: https://forms.gle/1xzhEZAPsWDeez6D8

Round 19 (or Round 1) will run until midnight GMT on Sunday 30 January 2022.

Let the round begin!

Please comment below as to whether you'd like the round count to be reset making this Round 1, or continue making this Round 19.

Thanks! Since it is starting now, I think Round 19 works better; I just did not know at the time when the next one would be open.

Besides, if the World Endurance Championship gets a two-year "Super Season" (2019 - 2020), then so should we! ;)

I could go either way.  Race one of the 2022 Season, or continuing with Round 19. A new season would imply a championship; One that finished and one that started. :)  I don't know how far we want to go with the Season concept.  On a side note, if we do a championship, I'm pretty sure Tamiya won the manufacturers part of it...:lol:

This is certainly the best graphics ever for the track layout. Unfortunately our yard is 7m wide. :(

Fastrax Turf Rippers from Modelsport  work very well on soggy British grass.

No stock anywhere, are Schumacher mini spikes the same?

They look to be very close in terms of spike size and placement, so should provide much the same levels of grip and resistance to clogging.

Terrific! This new track seems fun 😉 and the dedication to the graphic layout is appreciated @Grastens 👍

For what regards me, I'll still be an Ocean and a Continent away from all of my runners until the end of January, so unfortunately I won't be able to participate this time either. That is, unless I manage to built my TT02 Lancia Delta that I got for my holidays, which proved to be quite an ambitious project in terms of time management lol, in fact I haven't even started it yet so I doubt it but who knows! Trial Hill will definitely be an incentive.

As for the Round count, I definitely agree on calling it Round 19! At least for now I'd say let's keep it this way, as others said above it avoids misunderstandings.

Happy New Years racers! 🏁

I still haven’t got around to taking part in previous rounds but always follow with interest.

@Grastens great track. Takes me back many years to playing GT.

This is great, and happens to coincide with my replay of GT3 over the last year or so! I was on GT4 for way too long, and it was just neverending. Plus I'll never get to 100% completion because I refuse to do a 24-hour race on a TV.

Hoping to actually get to run this track in RC though, looks like a lot of fun! But we currently have snow on the ground, and it was 8F/-13C when I woke up this morning, so we will see what the rest of the month brings! Maybe we'll get even MORE snow, and I'll be able to make a snow track out of it

This round, I have set myself the challenge of running trucks and only trucks. I doubt I'll come out on top, but I am hoping to be one of the quicker truck entries. 😀

Although the body is far from finished, I gave the track a try with my Blitzer Blackfoot today. Went well, but I suspect I'll do better with a truck that I am more familiar with, and less fussed about scratching the body on. Next up: my Aqroshot!

Until I read the rest of the post, I had the following order in my mind:

1. Hilux High-Lift

2. Knight Hauler

3. Buggyra Fat Fox

:P

I do like your chances at the truck class (so to speak), especially with the Aqroshot.

Best of luck, everybody!

7C today, so the lovely frosen gravel with frost and ice is replaced with wet ice and wet gravel. It was slippery before, but now it is completely impossible to do anything but donuts.

The track was really enjoyable through and I loved the ilustration with coordinates from Grastens B)

Been away for a while but back home in a few weeks and have been reading this whole thread through. I am inspired by all of your efforts and am now researching what car I shall build to join in the March race.

My driveway is big enough for the tracks, the asphalt is pretty poor quality but not too bad and there is quite a slope. Am thinking a RWD rally car set up for tarmac… Alpine or Escort on an M08 which is a chassis that has been tempting me.

I am glad this layout has worked well ^_^

Regrettably, conditions are no longer favourable for me to attempt this round, but I look forward to seeing the results!

I don't know if this helps your decision at all, but while I have set my best times with a four-wheel-drive touring car, I have had some of my most enjoyable runs with my rear wheel drive M-08 and F1s.

I currently have the XV01 Lancia and an M08 chassis in my shopping basket at Modelsport so it looks like I am on the right track! It helps a lot. I am looking for fun over lap time and have never had an Mchassis before.

From my research, the M08 sounds like a blast. More of a challenge to drive RWD but nowadays I am more interested in achieving realistic driving dynamics and I might even weigh the car up to get more body roll and slower acceleration and use expo to smooth it out.

I know that standard TC advice is to get both (and in good time I will) but you have tipped me towards the M08 as my next chassis. Thanks! Now just need to find an Alpine or Alfa body.
