I would really like to see some pictures of that, I just can't imagine anything that could be called "a teapot hillclimb event".

Imagine something in between rock crawling and Icelandic Formula Off-road, but on grassy slopes, with remote controlled vehicles resembling teapots, driven by people dressed as Victorian science fiction characters, and you pretty much have it. 😁🧐

The TA03 is belt drive isn’t it? I quite fancy a belt drive but it’s the small stones and road debris that I am concerned about where I generally run.

It is belt driven indeed and a lot of sand, stones and road debris gets in the chassis. I'm just running the silver can so nothing too fancy speedwise (measured 29 km/h on tarmac with the standard 14t pinion) and nothing got stuck in the driveline. I can not see any damage on the pulleys but I've only ran it once (about half an hour) off road. I'm gonna fix some inner wheel wells or a chassis cover of some sort. The rally driving was to much fun but to much dirt got into the chassis.

XV-01 is belt driven and has its driveline completely covered...

Hello everyone!

These are the cars for the previous, and this run.

Tl01 Ford focus 99'

Ta04s Corvette C5

Ta04-Trf Opel vectra

The Opel is the news (vintage) body for the ta04trf in replacement of the Peugeot 406 coupé that I'm trying to refresh.

Have fun! 😉

No Brakes, only reverse and a delay between switching from reverse to forward + the car really takes its time to gain speed.

It sounds like your ESC is running reverse. You should swap the motor wires and change the transmitter settings. If that not help maybe re-calibrate the ESC.

No easy motor connectors, so will have to get my soldering iron out and more time consuming: need to clear a work area :D

Wow. This went really well:). I thought that if I was fast then the rockets would be even faster. It is worth mentioning that I have been lucky with the surface. The tarmac was brand new, so the grip was superb. When I got the flow the higher lapcounts just kept coming. My experience from trackdays in my 1:1 Golf MK1 can be transfered to this. It is remarkable how well the M-05 is behaving when you do what you are used to in the 1:1 world.

This time I have driven every workday without rain (maybe only 2-3 days) since the track was published. 4 to 6 stints and it payed off. I'm so happy for making it to the podium. And of course congrats to Ferruz for finding three more laps on a not so nice surface. That is an achievementB).

Awesome stuff @Ferruz & @Andreas W I’m sure you are both enjoying the champagne & company of the Pit Girls in the winners circle 😉

Thoroughly enjoyed this round as I’m sure everyone else did 👍🏻

Also dying to know how the Teapot Hill Climbing went @TurnipJF

Well done @Ferruz !

I'm in the middle of moving to a new house, with a larger back yard which might suit Postal Racing better than my current house. Next month I'll be moving so hopefully the month after that I can be competitive again.

The Asylum Festival Teapot Hillclimb went very well indeed, with plenty of interest from the steampunk crowd, and twentysomething entrants - not bad for a first time event. (As far as we know, nobody has tried to host a teapot hillclimb before.)

Lincoln Castle had a nice grassy hill for us to climb, which posed a significant but not impossible challenge for the competitors. Being the host, I couldn't very well also be an entrant, but I am pleased to say that I did build the winning teapot, which made it all the way to the final gate riding atop my GF-01 Sherp, driven by a visiting Dutch driver who borrowed it for the event.

Great stuff indeed, @TurnipJF. You guys must be... a lot of fun to hang out with, to say the least! 🤠

Cheers for the results, and congrats to everybody. Looks like it was another full grid which is nice 👍🏁

My family had fun participating in the event as spectators.

I will do my best to have the next Round fugured out by this weekend, and I apologize in advance if it's late for anybody. I'll do it as soon as possible!

I do like that SRB based Chrome Pot.

It was a most impressive machine, and a deserving winner of the concours medal. It had an SRB front end, Grasshopper rear end, aluminium bodywork and an animatronic driver that moved in response to steering and throttle input.

Good evening, racers.

My apologies for a weekend without a postal race track, I was busy, anyway here goes.

Prapare your tastebuds for some nice brews and high quality chocolate: we are off to Belgium, to race at Spa-Francorchamps!

Pending @TurnipJF's approval, I'll see y'all on the starting line! 😎🏁

Nice  it's a shame that the parking lot cannot match the topography of the lovely original;).

If the rain stays away I will give it a try on the way home from work B).

Cool 😎 Nice Scorcher sketch to @Ferruz 👍🏻

Thank you mate, glad you like it 😄 dunno why, lately when it comes to designing a new course I also feel compelled to quickly sketch one of our favorite characters on the side... it kinda gives it a warmer feel anyway, so why not 🚘🚜🚗🚖🚜🚕🚚🚘🚙🚛🚕🚜🚗

P.s.: I hope this course gets approved officially as, to be honest, I already had a go at it today

I can see you armed with a Sketch pad at doing the rounds at RC events offering to draw a caricature of people with their loved ones, heck even of the wife & kids as well, for 20 bucks 😉

It's always nice with a little sketch of a beloved classic as accent. I also like it when the course is hand drawn. In a world where everything is made on a computer and "perfect" it's liberating to see something made physical with a human hand.

Hope to squeeze in a stint or two today. Gotta sneek away a little earlier from work, so I make it before the parents meeting at school 17:30;-).

Had a few runs on this new course in the past couple days.

This time I wanted to take a "driftier" approach to the track, so I tried to tune up my Manta Ray for the task. I lowered the stance a little, added some percentage to the ESC's maximum breaking capacity, and dug out some old baldies from the munched-up parts box.

20220905-125943.jpg

The front boots are Kyosho Sand Super, they're only two years old but their compound is extremely hard, in fact I expect them to shatter very soon. The rear ones go all the way back to the early '90s, I think they came with my RC10 when I bought it and I knew I was going to use them someday... I put them all on without inner sponges, it's going to be a tire slaughter 🤣

So off we go with the drift setup...

20220905-162523.jpg

The car was nervous -as usual, on these small tracks- and quite hard to handle, but not impossible, so once I got the hang of it it was a lot of fun!

Drifting it did, and by the end of the third battery there was pretty much no pattern left to be seen on the tires. Loving the super-slick look 😎
