That's exactly the reason I have a M-05 and not a M-07

Me too!

There's a questionable Yeah Racing part that enables shortening the M-07 to 210mm, but then the rear of the chassis would poke out of the body, at least on a Golf. I suspect an Alpine body would be fine though. Then there's the body post holes that might not fit anymore with the M-07 if your body is pre drilled but I'm not 100% positive on that.

I'm beginning to wonder, why the M-07 is not the king of postal racing, instead of M-05?

If you can live with 225mm then I think the M-07 is the better starting point today. Alone because of the better plastics and the better gearing options. I have now bought a Suzuki Swift Super 1600 shell for the M-05,  so I'll find out somewhere in the future if it's still nice and agile in 225mm configuration. The amount of bodies to be painted is so slowly piling up.

I don't think that solution is that bad, given that you use a body which comes undrilled. For racing they would use generic bodies anyway. I think the HPI Porsche body I have would fit just fine. There is endless space behind the chassis by 210mm wheelbase. I remember Tamiyastef had a pic in his M-05/08 thread showing that the Porsche body was almost as long as the 239mm wheelbase NSU TT. Running a RWD body on a FWD chassis on the other hand.......

And BTW: My Porsche RSR is a backdated 964 C4, like Singer do ;)

Can't believe I missed yet another round of RbP

I just ordered a GT3 body so I can enter the endurance race in the future. Now for a bit more spare time and drier weather

Congratulations to all competitors. You're very close to the magical border of 50 there @BuggyDad and only one lap short with an M-08 is really impressive @Andreas W, well done gentlemen! The good old M-05, still the first one in the ranking on a basic silver can. Still going strong despite its replacement with the M-07...

Special congrats to Charlie and Grace. I know for sure I couldn't have done that at that age.

A nice and crowded leaderboard with participants from all over the world. How nice is that! Congrats to BuggyDad for the win. Nice to have you back. A good performance from Verskis with the M-05 as well running on radials.

I as well bow into the dust  of the performance of Charlie and Grace. I would not have been able to do so well with f.ex. the Dictator at that age. Well done.

I washed off the markers yesterday and now it's raining cats ans dogs,  so the Endurance markers are going on their own. Wonder where we are going next B)

Holy cow, I did not expect that! I was very pleased with my lap count on that run, being as it beat my previous goes by a good margin and I just squeaked in to get that last lap. I knew I wouldn't match it again but I assumed some others would be in the 50s. The car was running like a charm and I think the heat of the day helped - on a rare for this year properly warm day I had a cheeky afternoon when there was no one else in the office. I even swept the tarmac.

Well done all. Especially @Andreas W because RWD vs 4WD is worth somewhat more than one lap for sure. And Charlie and Grace too - great fun to see some young entries. @gogsyfinnie I wonder whether they would like to design the next track?

That’s very kind, and thank you all for the nice comments I know they will both be chuffed!

Im currently away with work but I know they would both probably request Monza (especially Grace who tends to go full throttle as much as possible!) I see we did a simplified version back in 2021 although the pic has expired though?

Nice idea. Searching back I think that's a @TurnipJF designed track. Do you think you might still have the picture somewhere?

Here we go - for our next round, we have a simplified Autodromo Nazionale Monza in miniature:

I did a few practice runs on it this evening, and it seems to work nicely.

Round 16 will run until midnight GMT on Sunday 31 October. Rules as per Post 1 of the thread. Hope everyone has fun!

As an aside, I was looking back at the archives too. Quite time consuming so I didn't get very far. There is some lovely artwork that really made me smile, eg @Ferruz's on Spa:

Good evening, racers.

My apologies for a weekend without a postal race track, I was busy, anyway here goes.

Prapare your tastebuds for some nice brews and high quality chocolate: we are off to Belgium, to race at Spa-Francorchamps!

Pending @TurnipJF's approval, I'll see y'all on the starting line! 😎🏁

I love the Scorcher character in the Tamiya manual style. Don't dunk it in a bucket of water!

Sadly I do not. Shouldn't be too difficult to redraw though. I'll give it a go, unless one of our more skilled track drawers would like to do the honours? Someone like @Ferruz perhaps? (Hint hint.😁)

I would be glad to, unfortunately I'm way too busy these days until Sunday included. I may be able to do it on Monday if by then you still don't have a track.

May I propose one more marker between 1 and 2 to simulate Curva della Roggia?

Then we try again with this M-08 unfriendly variant:D.

Looks nice I think.

Had a first run with my M-08 in maybe nearly a year today (son and I marked out a nice long easier track to race on, not a postal one). I remembered how nice it is to drive, although I see what you mean with that 2 to 3 transition which might be a bit spintastic. Hopefully I can give both this and my XV-01 a good run on this.

As an aside, does your M-08 drag its belly a bit? Mine (225mm) is very low in the middle with a downward curve to the chassis and I'm not sure why, having not touched it except to run it since the day I built it.

Mine is 239mm and I have not noticed any banana-shape. I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow. But mine is soft in the rear with the kit gold springs and no preload. Almost feels saggy with the huge LiPo installed.

Humm, not sure what’s going on there mate, mine’s dead flat right through?
