I have seen the TB evo 3 and think it looks fantastic. I was just wondering about the LIMITED EDITION label it has. Is it one of those things thats a sales gimmick? I dont suppose anyone knows how many a "limited" quantity is? I suppose "10 million" could be limited edition if they stopped at 10 million! I know its a usuless point but i was just sitting here wondering...

Just in case you can't read japanese, there is a short article on Tamiyausa too:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/rc/electr...tb01/49283.html

BTW: Is it me, or did they mavo over the moptor from the left to the right side since they released the TB Evolution III? The picture can't be mirrored as the '3300' on the batteries isn't mirrored. [;)] Quite odd... Is there a obvious reason for this change or did Tamiya favoured something else as a fashion? [:P]

Nothing escapes your eagle-eye, Sjoerd... [:P]

The EvoIII shares nothing (apart from knuckles) with its predecessors, it has more in common with the 414M.

Not only has the motor been moved across to the *right side*, you might notice that there are no bulkheads anymore!! Yeah, the diffcases just "float" there now...[:0]

As for "limited", well yeah... limited to until they bring out the EvoIV, V & VI I guess. The sticker sheet sure alludes to it... [;)]

Im sure they wont be making any more of the TB evo III (58299) because there is a new version coming out Surikarn edition

id="quote">id="quote">

Surikarn edition is great for a few extra goodies, but all that red needs serious getting used to.

Ideally Tamiya could also bring out a EvoIII-SSG... [:P][:P][:P]

I think that was a great price, just hope customs miss it. Fingers crossed!

$299 from Jason is cool, shipping is ok; Tower has it for $375.

You can find it for $280-289 from HK too, but I wouldn't lose

much sleep over it - Jason's always been great on the service.

The manual should be in english too,

if not drop me a note - *next week*. [;)]

Is there a great gain in performance of the Evo III over the Evo II and 1? [:0]

I think it's all about Tamiya being fancy... [;)] I mean, red anodizing sure makes the propshaft stronger and faster, and the heatsink cool better...? [?]

the TB evo III Shurikarn Edition has some differences with the first TB Evo III, not only the red anodizing color but titanium screws, titanium turnbuckle shafts, a thicker chassis, ...

the TB Evo III is much better than the Evo II which were too heavy and also than the Evo I,

for prooves a lot of drivers change from their 414M2 Replica to the TB Evo III because there's a real performance gain, and its easier to drive

FYI you lot, the surikarn edition will NOT replace the EVO 3. Tamiya had only planned to make one batch, which are due for release in a couple of weeks, however, as they are ALL already sold, they are due to make one mre batch of the surikarn edition only.

The standard EVO 3 will be able for a while to come yet.

Thanks mate. That price was really good here. It cost £189. Shops here i have seen it for well over £400! Even with tax if (and when) it gets stopped should still be loads cheaper. Even the postage at £20 is good as alot of people in the UK charge that to ship a kit anyway, especially some sellers i have found on Ebay!

I just think it looks like a nice piece of kit, i do love tamiyas quality but it comes at a price! I preffer the silver alloy instead of the red, the red looks over the top i feel.

imho The *other* main reason is that the suspension components are Identical... so you can carry over your susp settings to the EvoIII.

I don't think these are serial numbered...?

Unlike the 414M2-WCR.
