I have just purchased a new body and has finally arrived. While I was waiting for it to turn up thoughts of how I would paint it and how it may turn out past through my mind. As the days past I was getting so excited, having a look at the photographs on the website that I had ordered it from. All of a sudden I glanced as the small print ' 210-225mm'  .... But what was going to arrive? I don't remember any choice for the wheel base. Finally the arrived and I opened the box and there in the wheel arches two dots showing you where the centre of the wheels will be but if you trim out the arches the wheels would look odd because of the details a round them.

My advice to everyone is, if you see a body set that fits two wheel bases DON'T get it!

Now I have had my rant, could someone please give send me a link to someone who does great body shells?

L and L models do some decent ones. Kamtec are decent but you`d need to organise you own add ons, mirrors spoilers etc

L and L, I remember looking on their site a while back and most of the ones I liked had sold out, but I will have a look on Kamtec. I don't mind  choosing all the other bits and bobs. It just seems like all the 225mm wheel base sets have sold out. 210mm is just a bit too twitchy for me. Thanks

Yeah, I did give 210mm a go for a bit and had a Phat body on it. It looked really nice too, but it was just a bit too edgy on the striates.

Its for a M06 and I'm also looking for a M08, same wheel base.

I am definitely giving L&L a go... When I can afford the Body AND Shipping to the Western U.S. 😲  They've got a Mk1 Escort that REALLY intrigues me!!

I wonder if those guys know that we stopped cutting Wheelwells out of BLANK Lexan in the LATE 80's!! 😖

So far every body I have had out of the UK you have to do all the prep work your self. You would think that things would of move on by now. Okay I don't mind doing post holes but like we were saying, I think magnetics is the way it's going.

I've been doing Magnets for almost 8 years... Everyone thought I was silly in the beginning - but I've never liked Body Holes and Clips!!!

I tolerate them on most Buggies, only because there's no good way to mount Magnets, that are nearly as strong... And Buggies tend to hit objects harder!! 😜

I think that the next one I will be using magnets, that's if I can find a site where they have anything in stock. Every time I think yeah that will look great it's over your neck of the woods and shipping doubles that price. You have it prity dam good by the looks of things.

Try not to be tempted by the easier to obtain small Magnets... They just don't have enough holding power. 10mm and 12mm are popular, but just don't.

15mm (round) has been my best option. Plenty strong and I also get them with 3mm center holes. That enables me to firmly attach to the Magnets to the Chassis without using any adhesive.

The holes also give the Epoxy more to "grab onto" on the Body. 😉

I've been doing some research on the ideal magnet setup for a kit I'll be building but haven't seen a convincing product. When I see some pre made products the reviews aren't as convincing. I probably haven't searched enough. If you don't mind do you have a picture of how you set yours up (body post to body?).

I'm in the middle of doing one now! 😉

page 4....  I don't like most of the pre-made kits! Not enough height options.

Sweet! Thanks. I realized I came across that build thread of yours but just didn't see the magnet part. I thought the same too about the height options of the pre made post. I probably just gotta do some DIY solution. Can't wait to see the end result of your build/refresh.
