I think you are just taking pictures of your 1:1 workshop aren't you? 

you are just missing some pin ups of scantily clad models adorning the wall to add that authentic touch, not PC but probably accurate LOL

What size was your previous garage? Was it rectangular?

I tried to make a 1:10 scale flat panel monitor once - didn’t work out as nice as that! Looking at yours, I think you have used thicker material - doesn’t detract from the scale look at all.

Thanks very much. When ever I make stuff I simply take measurements from a real item and divide by 10. Otherwise things soon start to look out of place or proportion.

This garage is 700mm wide, 700mm long and 600mm high. Previous one was 1200mm long, 700mm wide and 700mm high. With the TV, I used 1.5mm styrene for the surround and then the printed picture was stuck on to some 1mm styrene. Then I used some .7mm lexan as the screen. Here's a pic of my TT02 drift car in the new garage for size.

A little update already. I just wanted somewhere to put the spare m-chassis tires I've accumulated.

 

That tidies things up a little. All ready to get the M-07 back in here again.

The strips of balsa wood arrived this morning. So, after work I started the task of making the garage door. I decided to not do another roller shutter style door, and instead opted for a nice wooden double door. After some googling I spotted this pic.

I started with a piece of thin 3mm mdf cut to size and laid on and glued the strips.

 

This is where it will live, along with the door frames.

 

Some nice dark ash stain.

 

And here's my attempt at making it look old. I hit it and scored it with a screwdriver, some scissors and the end of a pencil then start adding a little light staining.

 

And here it is done (minus the hardware).

 

Next up will be me practising some weathering in an attempt to make the walls and floor look as old as the doors without ruining it. Fingers crossed!!

The only small suggestion that I might offer is to make the weathering heavier where the two doors meet, to represent the inevitable marks from opening and closing them with greasy hands, pushing through them with dusty boxes, etc.

Copy away. I don't lie to over complicate things, so this was nice and simple to make.

NICE subtle details! They really make a difference.

I think it's missing a naughty calendar / poster or 2 though, all the workshops I've seen have had one... It's probably not quite in-keeping with 2020 equality standards though
