RazorConcepts 2 Posted November 10, 2020 I recently picked up a used Wild Willy 2 (WR-02) and I'm surprised by how smooth and quiet the drivetrain is. Is it just me? Am I just used to big trucks with metal gears that make a lot of noise? Or does anyone else notice it too.
toyolien 4680 Posted November 10, 2020 I did notice that when I first ran mine a few months ago. Even compared to my other Tamiya cars it's positively silent. I love it. It's one of my most favourite runners. Here is mine:

isomer1 175 Posted November 10, 2020 Hmm, my WR-02 XB version is middle of the road. Not TXT-1 level loud, but not belt-drive quiet. I haven't swapped in bearings though. Maybe that's part of it?
TurnipJF 9192 Posted November 10, 2020 Once ballraced, the WR-01/WR-02/WT-01 gearbox module is very quiet by most standards. It is also surprisingly kind to the pinion - even cheesy alloy ones tend to last longer than usual in this gearbox. My WR-01 twin-motor Twin Detonator uses two of them, and is is still quieter than some single-motor rigs.
